Also, I've heard that we've promised Rooney 200K a week if he joins.

Re: Summer transfer window 2013
Seems like no chance of Lewandowski then. Its amazing that the big clubs let this signing go past without a fight. 25million Euros is peanuts for a striker of his stature and noone wants to enter a bidding war.... Even West Ham is prepared to pay 15m Pounds for a donkey like Andy Caroll. Why couldnt some English club or someone else put a 30m bid for Lewandowski. Dont understand this transfer market at all!

And besides, we have first option on him. Wenger would literally have to say "I do not want Cesc Fabregas to be an Arsenal player" before anyone else could even have a chance of signing him.

I heard they've basically sealed Jovetic. Surely can't go for both? Hope they have so we can get Higuain.

Would be a real pity if we have actually missed out on Jovetic, the player we have been linked with for over a year now and I do believe we were genuinely interested in signing him.
I feel Higuain is a player with a bigger profile than Jovetic, having played for Real Madrid, and if he were available there are plenty of clubs in a much better position to sign him - Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich.

Re: Summer transfer window 2013
Guys we never get a player from Real, Juve, Milan, or Barca. We will get some striker who has scored 15 goals in France. I think we're wasting time thinking about whether Higuain will be better or Benzema or Jovetic.

Some interesting names on that list.
Aubameyang (19 goals) - interesting a lot of clubs across Europe.
Gomis (16 goals), Aliadiere (15 goals), Kalou (15 goals), Gignac (13 goals), Lisandro Lopez and Mutu (11 goals).
Dario Cvitanich (never heard of him) has 19 goals and a couple of other guys like Wissam ben Yedder and Anthony Modeste have 15 goals each - but nothing really exciting happening in Ligue 1 either.

Re: Summer transfer window 2013
Top scorers in the Eredivisie, Wilfried Bony (31 goals) and Graziano Pelle (27 goals).
Two options worth considering in the EPL, Benteke (19 goals) and Michu (18 goals).
La Liga : Soldado & Negredo with 22 and 21 goals respectively. Vela is 9th on the list with 14 goals.
Serie A : Pablo Osvaldo (16 goals).
Bundesliga : Stefan Kiessling (25 goals) and Adam Szalai (14 goals).
I have only considered the players we could realistically look to sign given we are not in contention for the likes of Ibrahimovic, Cavani, Falcao and Lewandowski.
Looking at the names mentioned, I don't think any / many are an improvement on what we already have with Walcott, Podolski and Giroud.

Re: Summer transfer window 2013
So Wenger is interested in Lyon's Grenier apparently. Has had scouts watching him and rates him as a player. Lyon not keen to sell (cheaply).
I know nothing of him. Filled in for Gourcoff due to injury. 20 starts, 7 goals and 6 assists. Scored 2 long range free kicks.
“We are following him, I like the intelligence of his play," Wenger told Telefoot. "He has interesting qualities, if anyone, he reminds me of [Samir] Nasri.”

Pires. My favourite ever Arsenal player. How handy would his 14 goals a season be these days, not to mention his general great play.

How many of Theo's goals were in the league? I think they might be about 14. Poldi also scored 11 in the league? We were missing an Henry up front and Wiltords on the bench.Jonathan Prendergast wrote:Pires. My favourite ever Arsenal player. For my own reasons, I assume that Pires's goals would be on top of Theo's, Poldi's and Cazorla's. Although realistically you are correct.
