Well I like him...good potential to fill a hard granite slot needed to cover defense..
Bayern have cooled their intrest in him paving a potential move to us....make you wonder why they have decided to not go after him..high wages? High fee? Something not seen as before?....who knows.
That said if we can get him for a good price...go for it and I could see that ending our transfer window for signings....
Just to ship out that dead wood.
My impression is that Bayern and Inter 'pulled out' because they knew M'Vila to Arsenal was a done deal.

Re: Olivier Giroud
Montpellier president confirmed this earlier today. Didn't reveal the details of the transfer but confirmed Giroud is on his way to Arsenal and wished him best for the future.

Incoming Arsenal signing Olivier Giroud arrives after posing in a gay magazine.
The Montpellier striker was recently voted the country’s sexiest footballer and got his kit off for gay mag Tetu.
He features on the front cover of the Paris-based monthly, proudly declaring: “I have no taboos.”
Montpellier owner Louis Nicollin has repeatedly made headlines with a string of anti-gay comments.
But Giroud told Tetu: “I would be delighted if my gesture can help change the mentality of some people involved in football.
“I don’t see any difference between a gay person and a straight one. Tetu is a magazine just like any other.”

Stop chatting shit. You're spreading false rumors as if it's fact. There is nothing to suggest he is bisexual - he posed for that magazine and said he sees no difference between a gay person and a heterosexual person. That doesn't mean he's bisexual, it means he is open minded. Idiots who are insecure about their sexuality will attack him for it, because it only takes 2 braincells to make that link. Do you want to be one of those people? Don't be, you have more than two braincells, you're a smart guy.
Also, who cares? What does it matter what his sexuality is? It only matters to neanderthals in the stands who will use that against him and make his time with Arsenal difficult.
He's our player now, let's support him if he's straight, and support him just as much if he's gay or bisexual.

Apologies on the picture. It's old.
Zaid - I read somewhere he came out and admitted that he is. I just post it as it is. I'm not judging him, just stating the fact. Could be wrong though so yeah, my bad.

Officially announced! Hurrah! Now let's get RVP and Theo signed up, then M'Vila and I think we'll have a squad capable of being in the running for cups at the business end of the season!

Re: Olivier Giroud
This is soo unlike Arsenal of the last couple of years! We've actually made not one, but two signings, of proper known and proven players, and its not even July yet!! Well, long may it continue! Only 1 more good midfield signing,re-sign RVP,walcott and song, and getting rid of the dead wood and I'll be a happy man!

What a boss. Let's hope he's as good at football as he is enlightened!
I don't see how we fit him, RvP and Podolski into the same XI for 90 minutes, but no complaints here! We need some serious depth if we're going to attempt a legitimate title challenge.
Seems like the consensus is that now we need to get in one more midfielder (M'Vila) and clear out the dead wood and we'll be in pretty good shape. I think I agree- though the attacking mid position still seems a little weak to me compared with our options further forward. Ramsey/Rosicky aren't title winning quality, AOC isn't there yet (if he even ends up in midfield) and we don't know how Wilshere will transition back into the team- as of right now his position is occupied by Arteta, who won't be that easy to displace. Very interested to see who stakes their midfield claim next season- we have many options but I'm not sure who's actually best for them. Off the top of my head
Arteta, Song, Rosicky, Ramsey, Wilshere, Diaby, Coquelin, Frimpong... maybe AOC, and possibly even RvP to play behind Giroud if we're at home to some bottom half team. Who leaves if we bring one more in? Did I read something about Ramsey going out on loan to Fulham?
