We MUST sign Gourcuff in January and Hummels next summer.Vanig Bostanian wrote:I think Mikel Arteta has something to say about that, but in general, I agree, tall, great physique, well, he's handsomeMeshaal wrote:Is Giroud the most handsome man ever to play for Arsenal?

Re: Olivier Giroud
Theo and Podolski both get their share of assists. Theo also created quite a few chances for van Persie.Vanig Bostanian wrote:Meshaal wrote:Vanig Bostanian wrote:I think Theo has 3-4 assists so far?Subrat Koirala wrote:and even Walcott and Podolski can provide the assists.
Sligtly different note - watch videos of Ozil's assists while at Real and it becomes quite obvious how beautifully Suarez would fit into our team. Suarez or van Persie would score 40 over the season (barring injury and suspension) with Ozil and Cazorla behind them.
The plan is straight forward - eliminate Dortmund from the CL and sign Lewandowski and Hummels in the January transfer window. Near perfect squad

Re: Olivier Giroud
By signing Ozil, does it make players like Lewandowski possible? Both him and Bayern seem pretty keen for him to play there next season...

Re: Olivier Giroud
I think it does to an extent, but we now need to be winning the trophies. Hazard went to Chelsea, major reasoning there was that they were European champions.
Doubt we will ever see Lewandowski, but hopefully (with a trophy or 4), other top class players will be more interested in Arsenal.

if things dont work out at barca as an apparent phone call was told...

Re: Olivier Giroud
I think the only other club Cesc would go to would be us (with or without Ozil), so I'm not worried about that and have been confident of his return one day even just after he left. I'm hearing one more season with Barce, but who knows...

Cesc will not leave Barcelona, it's as simple as that.

Aside from the transfer rumours, it's all rubbish imo.ArseHenry wrote:Never say never bud, just look at Ozil...
Cesc doesn't want to play anywhere else and it's not because there are other players who provide competition that he is going to leave.
Barca are not Real Madrid and in any case, Ozil isn't exactly born and bred Real Madrid. RM have sold good players before just because they buy so many new ones out of desperation.

Re: Olivier Giroud
There are many reasons why Cesc would want to come back to Arsenal (London) too.
I get what you are saying about Barce, but I still think there is a good chance he will be back some day.

Never say never.
But he is at his hometown club, he is playing, and they are winning and will continue to win.

Cesc is not Ozil, and above all Barca aren't run as farcically as Madrid.Michael Foster wrote:and Ozil did not want to leave.......but becoming surplus to requirements chose his best option....ArseHenry wrote:Never say never bud, just look at Ozil...

As for Henry, he definitely wanted to leave. It was just a question of when.

Re: Olivier Giroud
What do you mean? Henry had had a good stint at Arsenal and wanted to leave. Cesc does not want to leave Barcelona.exactly...but he still wanted to leave......
When will not be the question, but a huge and unlikely if.
He did not move back to Barca, his childhood club, just to leave a few seasons later.
He will only become more important as Iniesta and in particular Xavi get older. He has a great chance to win things and be a club legend there. A vague belief that he would love to come back here is misplaced imo and only exists due to stupid media stories which have no substance.

You read my mind there Michael, a Sunderland arse whooping is exactly what is needed to strike fear into the competition, confidence would be sky high too. Very much looking forward to it.

Doubt we will see a Sunderland whooping, I think it's an away game, and we all know how much Arsenal hate going up north!

Yes, a Grieoud header for a 1-0 victory would do for me.Jenks1981 wrote:I'd settle for an injury free 0-1 result thanks lets not get too carried away.
