Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
Hulk is not worth anywhere near that much, I really don't get the hype around him. I think Hazard will be a much better signing for them.
Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
Hulk, under the right manager could flourish. They need someone physically dominant to take Drogba's place in the squad. He could become that player.

I definitely agree.
He's also got a ridiculously stupid name. I'm hoping we sign Thor, we'll definitely hammer all our opponents if we get him. Har har.

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
Guys lets not kid ourselves here. one, Hulk isnt worth that much...ya ill give you that, but he is exactly the type of player that can do well in any league he plays in. Low center of gravity, powerful shot, strong as hell...he is either going to be really good, or good enough for Chelsea. Either way bad news for Arsenal. Im still sick that they won the CL but now it looks like their squad is even stronger than before.
Secondly, lets not delude ourselves into thinking we'll be seeing any shocking transfers coming our way this summer. There wont be any marquee signings, and the same players who were here last season will be here next season. Podolski is probably the only name we sign this summer. Lets be honest with ourselves guys.

They signed Hulk? Never rated him. He's for me (watched only a few games) a much better version of Baptista.

He shoots from anywhere on the pitch possible. In Portugal, those goals may go in more often than not. But he won't get that much time on the ball in the premiership imo.

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
Signings not confirmed but Hulk is about 47.5 mil€ and Hazard 40 mil€
To be honest even half the price of them would be too much for AW.
PSG (just finished 2nd in France) offers 120 mil€! for Rooney. Things could get crazy this summer. No news around City?
Ralf Rangnick new coach of WBA. Maybe the first step to become a manager at a proper PL club in the future.

City are just biding their time. Expect them to go all out for all the top performers in the Euros.
Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
West ham's owner confirmed Rob Green will leave the club as a free agent.
Interesting to see if we'll get him and if he'll be happy to sit on our bench.

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
Do you honestly expect England's number 1 to be happy to sit on the bench?

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
The point still stands. Why would someone who wants to challenge for the number 1 spot be content to sit on the bench?

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
Afellay would be a great signing and I think it might happen considering that he doesn't play that much for Barcelona. We have to consider that Arteta and Rosicky are old and might have one more season at the top level.

Isn't Afellay a winger?

Yes, but he can also play the "Cesc role".

Marvin Martin on the way to Lille. Heard some rumors about him to join Arsenal.

Is that confirmed news? I read somewhere that he's going to Spurs.
Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
Fresh story on SSN about Lucas Biglia saying Real and Arsenal have been in touch regarding a move. He is a defensive midfielder but rather underwhelming considering all the chatter about M'Vila.

Dont want Marvin Martin.
(a) Is he good enough?
(b) He always says he wants to play in France. Fair play to him, let him stay in France. It's a lifestyle choice and I respect it. But if we were to sign him, I'd worry about signing a Reyes-like player, one who gets homesick.

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
United have agreed terms with Kagawa, Chelsea have apparently signed Marko Marin in addition to Hazard and probably Hulk. Hopefully this M'Vila thing actually happens, because it looks like everyone else will have a busy summer.

We signed Podolski before any of them made a move on market. And he is very good signing!

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
If we're looking for a cheap attacking option why don't we go for Honda? He's had a really good last couple games and he had a great WC in 2010. He always seems to be doing things well.

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
Saw on Sky Sports News this morning that apparantly Djourou's agent has said he's going to Napoli for £8m! That's an amazing price for DJ, would never thought we would get more than about £4-5m for him.
