Re: January Transfers
3 years ago I would have been keen on snatching up Kalou. But he doesn't seem to have improved over time, no doubt due to limited playing time. I think he's done his dash now, his own fault too.

Christopher Flanagan wrote:Robben is an absolute fucking bell piece. Still, he's won titles in Holland, England, Spain and Germany. And he's still young enough to go to Italy (probably too young). That is pretty impressive.
There is a horrifying rumour linking us to Solomon 'hasn't got a' Kalou. It really wouldn't surprise me. He's out of contract in the summer and Wenger is a known admirer. Personally, I'd rather sign the retarded offspring of a goat and a spaniel but what can you do? I think it'll happen, if not now then in the summer.
Isn't Kalou going to AfCoN too? That seems a completely unwise buy for Wenger. Not that that really matters...
Re: January Transfers
As far as 'quite aren't cutting it' Chelsea players, I'd prefer Alex. Hell, even Drogba
Re: January Transfers
Kalou has been linked with us for years! What on earth does Wenger see in him?!
Robben truely is a pratt of enormous quantity with a huge ego and a terrible injury record (ironic considering how much he used to feign injury/cheat at Chelsea) to boot. I wouldn't have him personally but I do acknowledge that when he isn't rolling on the floor crying, he is a very good player.

Re: January Transfers
Kalou can finish though, he does pop up with the odd goal and for that kind of money surely he would be worth it, talking about a guy who has made around 230 appearances for Chelsea whilst they have been a club challenging where we are in the league, if he can be part of that squad, he could do it here as well.
SSN are reporting a potential loan move for Eric Abidal, I would approve wholeheartedly, and its about time Barca did us a lil favour.

Thought this was interesting from the journalist who broke the Arsenal bidding for Matias Suarez story. Certainly tries to justify us taking him seriously. Was surprised RVP is Matias's favorite player. Well I was going to post the article, but since I'm a new member, I can't. bollocks.
I think he has required ingredients for Wenger to work on. I am sure Wenger is interested and if he feels he is worth the amount being bandied about then he will get his man.

Not sure if Barca will let Abidal leave on loan, more likely Maxwell might join us on loan. Abidal is in their first team and I can't see him being sent off on a loan deal

Re: January Transfers
Matias Suarez: "I will not leave Anderlecht in the winter transfer window, not even if Arsenal make a move for me. I want to help the club achieve their goals this season. Things have been going pretty well, and we can achieve some great things. I don't want to let the club down now. If I leave Anderlecht, it won't be during the winter break."
So Suarez is out of the question.

Re: January Transfers
If Demba Ba's release clause is anything under 10m then we should pounce immediately. And if its as low as 5m as is being suggested, then we should sign him while he's in Africa. He is EXACTLY what we need - a backup for RVP. Injury prone or not, his health can be managed as long as we're aware of the issues - ala Ledley King. Sign him up, man.

Have we actually be linked to Ba by anyone reputable??

Re: January Transfers
Can't see us going for Ba, just can't. He is obviously a very good striker but do we need another treatment room superstar?
Re: January Transfers
I can't believe BA would only cost 5m, but if true, snap him up NOW

I think Kalou would do a lot better than Chamakh.

Re: January Transfers
Lets not forget Kalou is around a 1 in 3 (goals to games) striker over his career- granted since he's been at Chelsea it's more 1 in 4 but how many times has he come off the bench!!? He's 26 and is a decent player. On a level with someone like Gervinho and probably more effective through the middle. Would be a decent backup to RVP but would come with a hefty wage bill and is probably not the type of player we are looking for. There are better out there, probably not for 3 million, though. If he wasn't asking for 90k per week he'd be a decent squad player. Better than Chamakh and Park.

Re: January Transfers
Latest reports suggesting that Arsenal have signed Matias Suarez on a pre contract. He should be arriving in the summer.
Anyone can confirm if there is any truth to it?

I think there is. Look at Javierperez108's twitter; he's the journalist that reported it. It also fits in with Suarez's latest quotes that he will stay until end of seasons. It's a good deal for Arsenal. But we still need another forward

We need him now in my opinion. But if he is supposed to come here in the summer then Arshavin and Rosicky are leaving for sure !!
Phillipe Auclair has has high regards to Javier as a source. I think this deal has been completed but I have a question. Can we have a pre contract signed legally when the player is under contract at another club ??? Even thought the selling club has agreed to the deal !!??
Also read on L'Equipe that we are in discussion with Lyon over the possibility of signing Aly Cissokho for about £8-10 millions !!! Surely this means either an end to Gibbs or Gibbs is moved to left centre mid or Santos is pushed ahead to become a left winger.

If Kalou is the extent of our ambition, I give up. We have enough erratic, largey pedestrian wide forwards.

completely agree with this. We have to be aiming much higher than Kalou

Re: January Transfers
I wouldn't bother with the Kalou rumours.
He's been linked to us for in every transfer window for the past 5 years.
