Thought a point was a fair result, we might have edged it but ultimately Giroud was not at the races today and showed once more for me why he would be a great second choice striker, but not a first choice in this league.

It's his first season in the world's toughest league, cut him some slack!

No doubt about it, we're still looking for that striker who can be relied upon week in week out. There are question marks over all our forwards and the biggest question mark against Giroud concerns his feet. No big sides have a striker who isn't first and foremost a very good footballer. Giroud seems to need more time than he'll get in this league. I hope that he will improve but almost a season into his Arsenal career he's not convinced quite enough. We've bought so many forwards in recent seasons though, it's getting boring. We need the one player who we can rely on above others to score goals, we had one who we sold knowing that we couldn't replace him with similar quality.

I like Giroud. He is an easy target as (a) he isn't a typical Arsenal player, he is more direct and physical and (b) he is unfairly compared with RvP when only a handful of strikers in the world can compare to RvP right now and all would cost 30M+. But whilst he hasn't shone this season he also hasn't failed. 17 goals and 13 or 14 assists so far in his first season is very good and he has started better than a lot of others including RvP and Henry who took more time to settle into this league. I like having him in the side for his hold up/link-up play, his work rate and aerial ability. I'm happy with his first season and I think he will be better next season but saying that I do think we need another striker to rely on when he is having an off day.

As far as the Champions Leagues spots go, we need Fulham to do us a favour tonight, if Chelsea drop points it stops too much pressure building on our players as well.

The match last night - over the 90 minutes we were the better team but lacked just that little bit of quality needed to get a goal.

As far as our four strikers are concerned, Giroud, Walcott, Podolski and Gervinho are all decent players and can win us games on a good day but Wenger needs to make a tough decision this summer and bring in a striker (at the expense of one of those 4 possibly) who guarantees goals.

Gervinho has shown flashes on and off but remains a very frustrating player and Walcott hasn't been great since signing the new contract.

Quite pleased with Giroud in his first season, though over the course of the season, he could have gotten us a few more points.

Out of the four, Podolski strikes me as the most clinical but needs to get more playing time.

They can, but only if they beat both villa and us in their next two games.
