Arsenal-Everton Match Thread
So, huge match, and a must-win (as with every other game these days). Mertesacker returns from suspension and Rosicky has been declared fit to play. Fabianksi, however is a "major doubt" according to Wenger, having been kicked in the ribs because Norwich don't know how to play football except by acting like thugs and trying to blatantly muscle and bully their way through a match while a moronic referee does absolutely nothing to stop it. Cunts, hope they get relegated three times in row and burn in hell. Anyway....Everton is still in the hunt for a top four spot, so they'll be going for it until the final whistle. The lineup I think would deal with them the best would be:
-----------------Szczesny---------------
Sagna---Mertesacker---Vermaelen---Gibbs
-Wilshere-----------Arteta-------Rosicky-
Walcott------------Giroud--------Podolski
2-1 to us, and I once again hope Gervinho does not make an appearance.
-----------------Szczesny---------------
Sagna---Mertesacker---Vermaelen---Gibbs
-Wilshere-----------Arteta-------Rosicky-
Walcott------------Giroud--------Podolski
2-1 to us, and I once again hope Gervinho does not make an appearance.

Anyway, huge game, Szczesny coming in for Fabianski doesn't worry me one bit, but Mertesacker has to come in for Vermaelen and Nacho for Gibbs. If Rosicky is back, then he should play instead of Jack the lad too. I'd go with:
Szczesny
Sagna Per Koscielny Nacho
Mikel Ramsey Rosicky
The Ox Giroud Santi
But we know Wenger would play Theo on the right but that's fine with me as well as long as Gervinho doesn't play.

Hahaha, I appreciate the compliment! And yeah, I like your lineup a lot better than mine. Maybe I meant "the lineup Wenger will probably put out" instead of "the lineup that will handle them best".

Re: Arsenal-Everton Match Thread
I think we'd be foolish not to play our in-form players of which I would list Ramsey and Rosicky so i'd leave Wilshire out and leave Cazorla out wide as well, some tough decisions but could we see Podolski start centrally? I don't know but Giroud has played alot recently, tricky also to pick someone on the right but I think Walcott will get the nod in this one even though Gervinho has been playing well.

Re: Arsenal-Everton Match Thread
Absolutely huge game this, could make or break our season. Win and we go clear and put some distance between us and the chasing pack, lose and everything could come crumbling down, not to mention we'd let everton into the thick of things. I believe if we win then this could be the push we need to finish 3rd, possibly even 2nd, but that's just blind optimism since this team will most likely disappoint just as we start to get excited. One thing I'm worried about right now is utd winning the league at ours, that's seriously going to suck ass considering the whole robin van cunt saga.
Anyway, my team for tonight would be:
Sagna - Mert - Kos - Nacho
Arteta-Ramsey
Rosicky
Walcott/Ox-Giroud/poldi-Cazorla
I really want us to give some time to podolski in the middle, the guy is such a good finisher there's just no way he wouldn't score regularly there. Also Ox was really good through the middle when he came on on saturday, would love to see more of him there next season.

He'd have to score because against strong defenders, Podolski would be even more likely to disappear for periods of the match. Playing in the Premier League as the lone forward is no doubt a great deal harder than playing as the lone forward for Koln.
The truth is we're not really any closer to solving the forward problems provoked by RvP's departure. There are pros and cons for all of our forwards.

Don't know how much truth there is in there, but I read somewhere that if we win the game, Wenger would get manager of the month. Let's do it for the boss boys.

Going to have to work very hard tonight against this Everton team. They will test us all over the pitch.

Early thoughts - they seem far more dominant in mid-field.

We've only had the ball in their final 3rd once as far as i remember for the 1st 10min, aweful start, midfield disjointed.

We're dominating now, think Ecerton have settled for the draw and will probably park the bus and counter for the last 15 min.
