Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger on the loan signing of Emiliano Viviano:
"Viviano is a player that we have rated for some time and we are very pleased to have signed him on loan. He's experienced and has proved himself at a high level, and provides us with excellent cover to our existing goalkeepers."

If Ozil is it I think we will see us playing without a striker sometimes you cant expect Giroud to play every game.

Re: Summer transfer window 2013
I guess fully fit you could argue Podolski or Walcott could play there, no doubt Ozil will play as part of the front three and be allowed to drift, he definitely wont play as part of the midfield three. Cazorla one side and Ozil the other, serious ability there.

Re: Summer transfer window 2013
I really think Giroud is the better option, he is turning out to be really good, when Podolski is back he is a great rotation option or from the bench, Walcott will obviously get used through the middle as well this season if no one else comes in now, I think we are ok for numbers just not comfortable.

Re: Summer transfer window 2013
interesting story on sky
"Fascinating story behind the Demba Ba/Romelu Lukaku deals.
"Chelsea had no intention of allowing Lukaku to leave. But Ba rejected every club other than Arsenal. That was the only place he wanted to go.
"Jose Mourinho was not happy and absolutely would not sanction the move to Arsenal. So he reluctantly began to consider loan deals for Lukaku as he didn't want four strikers.
"Everton came in for Lukaku but the Belgian refused. saying the only club he wanted to join was West Brom. So, again, reluctantly, Chelsea had no choice but to let him go there.
"Once it became clear Chelsea were going to consider loaning him, Lukaku never considered going anywhere but the Hawthorns."

Kinda sad we didn't get a striker nor defensive mid, ManUtd managed Fellaini and Coentrao... but fuck that because Ozil!

Never know if a cheeky announcement will be made the day after. Wenger loves keeping secrets.
