Re: Chelsea vs Arsenal Match Thread
Ultimately Wenger is responsible for the XI sent out today. Even before talking about transfers, we need to address the tactically naivety and lack of sensible game plan today. For a man being paid riches to improve this team, it's a joke.

Our plan is to play an easy-going end to end game at 0-2. Nice.

And the only "options " on the bench are players that he has no intention of bringing on -Arshavin? Santos?John Foxall wrote:Ultimately Wenger is responsible for the XI sent out today. When was the last time we even showed up against one of the bigger / stronger teams? Definitely not this season.
United? City? Now Chelsea.

This is a club / team just going through the motions now.
No leadership at any level at the club.
Fuck you Stan Kroenke and fuck you Arsene Wenger.

S'oton showed up and fought, then brought Ricky Lambert on to score the tying goal. That's how they got a draw. We aren't fighting and we have no one to bring on. This showing just re-emphasizes how much RVP bailed us out last year with his phenomenal play.

The sad part is this is not even a particularly good Chelsea team.
However, they have better players all over the pitch - and that's where our players' lack of belief is hurting us most.
They know they aren't good enough.

what an awful half of football, one of the worst of the season for me tbh... We just vouldn't get anywhere near Chelsea, Their midfield's running ours ragged, their wingers detroying our fullbacks, thank God for Torres caise Ba would probably have had a hatrick in that half...

This. This season is basically what last season would've been without RVP

Re: Chelsea vs Arsenal Match Thread
It's a testament to Wenger's short sighted delusions. He thinks we can compete -win - with this team against the better squads in the league? They have hardly demonstrated this year that they can even play together coherently. Ridiculous

Over half a season in and most of these players look like they've never played with each other, pretty embarrassing

We're getting battered here just like we used to batter the likes of West Brom and Coventry. This is unacceptable. Giroud not hitting the target is unacceptable. Theo's corner's are unacceptable. Us not being able to defend is unacceptable. Bring on Ramsey and the Russian and take Diaby and Giroud off.

Re: Chelsea vs Arsenal Match Thread
This formation doesn't work very well, full stop.
Meshaal, Man City away was a reasonable performance.
Chelsea at home was the first performance where I thought maybe this season won't be so different after all. Two ridiculous simple goals to give away and the opposition looked tactically superior. Not the first time that Di Matteo had made Wenger look like a bit of a shit tactician either.
We always play the same easy-going football. Most attacks break down when Theo gets it, he and Giroud don't have any kind of instinctive connection. Sagna overlapping to little effect is a regular sight too.

Re: Chelsea vs Arsenal Match Thread
Yeah, It sort of feels that this was inevitable ,because nothing was done differently .We relied on RVP last year and then nothing substantial changed in the way we went about things.Jason Morrison wrote:Michael Schatzky wrote:S'oton showed up and fought, then brought Ricky Lambert on to score the tying goal. No gameplan, no strategy. Wenger's working really hard to fuck this season up.

In an ideal world Wenger should step down tonight.
Kroenke should also sell off his shares within the next few days

Playing better, especially Coq, Diaby though, really annoying me with his holding on to the ball too long then losing it.
