Re: Reserves / Youth Thread
I bet you a bazillion pounds that we will still be stuck with the likes of Vela and Bendtner by the end of the summer.
I guess this is the drawback of offering young prospects good contracts. They don't turn out as hoped and are a bastard to get rid off due to their 'high' wages

You would have thought that an employer's contract would have a 'termination of contact due to being shit' clause in it...
Dear Mr bendtner
We at ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB are writing to you as of the following procedure is likely to occur,
With regret (not) arsenal football club will hereby terminating our contract with you.
We feel over the last few seasons the following points have come to light to lead us to this decision,
1. Your shit.
2. Your lack of abaility,
we here at ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB strive to work towards a common attachment to push this club and its
understanding of pure football to the highest limits and beyond.
We feel this is something you don't 'understand'
3. Behavior.
As recent developments regarding your personal time and of said 'fucking up cars'
We will not tolerate this kind of behavior as it was never directed to 'those cunts down the road'
4. Playing attitude.
We at ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB do not see you as 'the best striker in the world' nor does anybody else for that matter,
We do applaud players that show a character association with the greats of the game once they have earned it,
You lack it. (Big time)
5. Appearance.
We condone our staff, players, ball boys, back room staff, stewards, manager, medics, and any other members of staff no matter how light
the duties to wearing 'fucked up footwear and visually insulting' as you do,
6. Did we say your shit?
We at ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB thank you for what little contribution you have given us in the past and wish you,
ALL THE BEST FOR THE FUTURE.
(your will be fucking needing it)
Yours thankfully,
AFC.
PS.please don't ask for a cv it will be within your best interests.

Re: Reserves / Youth Thread
Good to see Yennaris and Afobe getting minutes, espescially Afobe is a team chasing promotion. Shame Lansbury is struggling to get back into the West Ham team. He was playing a lot near the start of the season then had an injury and hasn't got back in since. Bendtner is having a nice run of form too. I'm sure a lot will disagree but I still think he can be a very good striker if he applies himself.
Do you think Mannone will stay at Arsenal as a back-up after his loan to Hull or is it just putting him in the shop window like Vela/Bendtner/Denilson?

And Aneke Mike? 90 minutes and to score on your debut is about as good as it gets.
Wenger on Arsenal.com talked about Afobe's loan and said "he is the next striker to come into our squad" so clearly he has his mind made up at the mo about Afobe, quite frankly as a youngster he cant be any worse than Park has been this season.

Yeah Aneke too. He didn't play too much at Stevenage though and the couple games I went to see him for them live he didn't overly impress, so didn't mention him as don't know a lot about him. He must have impressed Graham Westley though (the manager who took him on loan to Boro) as he has now signed him at Preston too.

Re: Reserves / Youth Thread
I think Mannone is playing for a move as well. He's not good enough to be at Arsenal and he may have found his level at Hull at the moment and he seems to be doing quite well, plenty of clean sheets. A club challenging at the top of the Championship playing regularly is where I think he needs to be and then maybe in a year or so if they get promoted a lower Premiership club, which is what they will be. But whenever he's played for Arsenal, bar a game or two, he has had me worried.
I would prefer an older keeper as back-up with Martinez as number 3.

Good news - Denilson won't be coming back to Arsenal this summer.
Bad news - It's another 12 months loan deal, meaning we can't sell him yet.

At least we could get some kind of modest loan fee? Lets face it, Denilson was never worth much anyway. A loan fee and us not having to pay his (full) wages will be enough for me.

Elsewhere, an Arsenal XI drew 1-1 with a Reading XI in a secret behind-closed-doors training game this morning, in which a host of first-team players featured, with many scouts specifically invited to watch.
The likes of Maraoune Chamakh, Sebastien Squillaci and Park Chu-Young, who scored for the Gunners in a 1-1 draw, all featured, with Wenger hoping to offload them in the summer, while Andre Santos, Abou Diaby, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Yossi Benayoun, Ignasi Miquel, and Carl Jenkinson also played, in a bid to boost their fitness.

Lansbury has not been getting many games lately has he? Also, what else can Park do besides keep banging them in for the reserves? He really does not seem that bad a player, or at least, a finisher.
