I was wondering also. Would be a good move for him, if he gets good game time there. Would be sad to lose him, but you can only have so many young players getting a chance.

Sad to see him go. Thought he'd be our next Cesc.

Arsenal starlet Afobe set for reunion with Clark in Birmingham loan deal
Birmingham are close to agreeing a loan deal for one of Arsenal's most promising youngsters.
Benik Afobe, an England youth international, has worked under Blues boss Lee Clark before, at Huddersfield, but having impressed in a short stint at Reading last season, the striker is ready for another crack at the Championship.
Afobe is currently on his way back from Estonia where he has been representing England U19 at the European championships.
The 19-year-old had expected to break into Arsene Wenger's first-team plans more quickly but his progress was halted last summer by a serious knee injury.
Afobe was sidelined for nine months, squeezed in three appearances for the Royals before the season's end.
The powerful Londoner scored eight goals in 32 matches under Clark two years ago.
Should he move to St Andrews, Afobe will follow a similar path trodden by Nicklas Bendtner, Fabrice Muamba and Seb Larsson.

Re: Reserves / Youth Thread
This can only be good. Hopefully he can get a full season under his belt as a starter there and will flourish, I genuinely think he can do a job for us in the future, he's no Robin Van Persie but you could see similarities to Wellbeck if he continues to improve.

Re: Reserves / Youth Thread
The Next Gen Series squad is out: Benik Afobe, Tarum Dawkins, Kyle Ebecilio, Thomas Eisfeld, Zach Fagan, Serge Gnabry, Sead Hajrovic, Isaac Hayden, Chuba Akpom, Chuks Aneke, Martin Angha, Zak Ansah, Hector Bellerin, Samir Bihmoutine, Reice Charles-Cook. Anthony Jeffrey, Jack Jebb, Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill, Lipman, Mugabo, Siemann, Uade, Kris Olsson.
Surprisingly, even Afobe has been included. It is yet to be seen how he'll juggle between his Bolton fixtures and this. I highly doubt Coyle will let him miss Bolton's games for this.

No Jon Toral?
Apparently Serge Gnabry is brilliant and Jack Jebb is the "new Jack Wilshere".

Re: Reserves / Youth Thread
It really is great news that he has gotten off to a good story. Will increase the chances that he plays an important part in the squad and gets plenty of game time and support, and come back a better player. Will give him great confidence also!
