Arsenal v Southampton
Seems like the board has died right off recently, personally I prefer talking about football than transfers but I see alot dont...
I reckon we will line up like this on Saturday;
------------------SCZCESNY-------------------
JENKINSON-MERTESACKER-VERMAELEN-GIBBS
--------------ARTETA-RAMSEY-----------------
------------------CAZORLA---------------------
-----CHAMBERLAIN-GIROUD-PODOLSKI--------
I see no point at all in playing Diaby or Walcott if they arent 100%.
Feel a little bit for Gervinho and Koscielny right now as well as Koscielny was on the bench for France, he hasnt had much football in the last few weeks at all but can easily step in if and when someone gets injured or has a poor run of form. Gervinho himself was very good on international duty but for me Chamberlain deserves to start again, Gervinho will play alot of football this season and should be an important player.
On the other injury news it sounds like Frimmy, Jack and Bac will be in full training very very soon Grrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaattttttt news!
Rosicky's schedule seems to be getting further away...I hope he returns in 2012 bless him as he was so important last season, he may find himself marginalised this season if he isnt back soon.
Thoughts peeps...

Re: Arsenal v Southampton
Apparently the Verminator took a knock on international break after playing 90 minutes in each game, so if he's not 100% I would start Koscielny.
I agree the ox should start his tracking back has been great and I think he'll have a huge game this weekend! Gervinho is a great option off the bench!
Giroud has to be feeling a lot of pressure and the goals will come so he just needs to keep doing what he's been doing. He's been making great runs, trying to get on the end of long balls to hold them up and he has been crucial on defending free kicks.
I'm saying 3-0 to the Arsenal, with Giroud and Ramsey scoring.

That would be nice, I have to say the criticism and general chatter about Giroud has been nothing short of ridiculous! On and off here.

Re: Arsenal v Southampton
That is the team I think we will see. I'd prefer Ox though as he tracks back more.
I can see Jenkinson starting this game but it'll be interesting to see if he starts against Man City and Chelsea. I like Jenkinson and think he'll get better and better but with the pace and skill other top four team's wingers will have I could possibly see Kos played at RB those two games for his experience and reading of the game.
Southampton have given Utd and City tough games but being at home will help. I think we'll win 3-1 and Giroud will score at least one of those.

Re: Arsenal v Southampton
Who starts for Diaby is probably the biggest decision tomorrow. Ramsey, Coquelin or The Ox are the options and not really sure on either of them for different reasons.
Coquelin - he could sit back and allow Arteta a bit more freedom but Arteta has been excellent so far and no need to change him. Plus, for Southampton at home it might be a bit too conservative.
The Ox - Will end up here one day but after playing all games this season out wide you have to wonder whether Wenger will move him in to the middle when there are other options and with the right wing position to be filled.
Ramsey will probably be the pick and the position might suit him more than AMC and he did do quite well in the Olympics. I hope he's turned a corner from last season where he was out of his depth for quite a large part of it but there's just that nagging feeling when I see him that he is slightly out of sync with the rest of the team. Hope Wales' thrashings this past week haven't knocked his confidence as he did start the season for GB quite brightly.

Re: Arsenal v Southampton
Thank fuck, real football is finally back. Can't wait for tomorrow's game.
I'd like to see
szczesny
jenks-mert-kos-gibbs
arteta-ox
cazorla
gerv-giroud-poldi
but guessing Wenger might go with ramsey in mid and ox on the wing possibly...
How awesome is it that we'll get to see the yeam now play basically twice a week for a couple weeks now:)

Ramsey to replace Diaby, and Gervinho on the right. The ox has played 60+mins in both international games so should get a rest maybe.
3-0.. giroud hatrick

My first visit to the Emirates this season, fingers crossed we can turn them over. Looking forward to seeing our new signings in the flesh for the first time

Southampton will score. They scored 2 goals against both Manchester clubs. I'd like to see the Ox replacing Diaby and Gervinho on the right.

Re: Arsenal v Southampton
Did someone see Southampton vs Manu? They outplayed Manu and I thought they deserved to win it. And if it wasn't for Robin Van fuckup, they would have.
Based on what I have seen of them (vs Manu and City), they looked very lively and I don`t think the tree point will come the easy way.
Hope Giroud finds his feet and destroy them!

Arseblog reckons he knows the team and he reckons;
SZCZESNEY-JENKINSON-MERTESACKER-VERMAELEN-GIBBS-COQUELIN-ARTETA-CAZORLA-CHAMBERLAIN-GIROUD-PODOLSKI
I'd be very interested to see how Coquelin does, he is obviously pushing hard for a spot in the team so im assuming he is a more complete and composed player than when he first started to break into the team 12 months ago. I like him alot and hope he does well, not sure where that leaves Ramsey if he does start ahead of him.

Re: Arsenal v Southampton
I like the lineup if that's the one we're going with.
I do feel we should be careful as well with Southampton cause they've looked very good in the games against the Manchester clubs.
I'm pretty excited. Feels like a month since there was a game.

Re: Arsenal v Southampton
Arsenal starting 11:
Szczesny;
Jenkinson Vermaelen Mertersacker Gibbs
Coquelin Arteta
Cazorla
Gervais Podolski Ox.
(via usually reliable @AFCAMDEN )
So no Giroud starting, hopefully he gets his goal after coming on as a sub in the 2nd half...
