[quote=]"Mario Leontiou" Norwich are a good team but they are not Barcelona, their end of season aim (according to a Norwich staff member I watched the last 15mins with) is to finish above Swansea. Ours is to finish in the Champions League! Yet who could have told the difference.

Just goes to show you that at this level any motivation , such as "finishing above Swansea" will win you points in this league if the opposing squad isn't really focused and motivated themselves.
Arseblog has a good post today (as per usual) spending a few lines talking about "the same problems year after year". Surely this must be a wake up call to management that change not only in personnel is required, but in philosophy.
But will it have that effect? Doubt it.
I say this from the position of playing devil's advocate , but I hope RVP does push for a move this summer, and leaves. Pragmatically, if you look at the "glory " periods of world class players, you could say that could say that this was his year, and soon he will not perform at this level because of injuries ,age , fatigue etc.
Surely it would ring some bells somewhere , if in 2 consecutive seasons Cesc ,Nasri, Clichy, RVP -and Denilson- all want to leave more or less for the reason that they feel they have a better chance ,( or in Cesc's case, a want ) to win trophies elsewhere. When your best players leave what does it say? Sure Wenger is a nice guy , but is RVP really going to feel like he "owes" him or is he going to think like a 28 yr old footballer with 3-4 yrs left at a top level?
Arsenal MUST evolve, Arsenal MUST change. If management does little to address the problems that exist at a very basic footballing level, perhaps it indicates that they ARE happy with doing the bare minimum to rake in the cash that comes with 4th/Cl placement , but not more than that.

www.arseblog.com ".....The frustration of seeing this team work their way into a brilliant position, where third could and should have been wrapped up by now, then chuck it away hoping for favours from others is hard to express.

More than that, you have to question why this happens every season. The players are different, yet the weaknesses remain the same. Season after season the pressure of the final stages becomes too much for us. I thought we had more about us, more maturity, more professionalism and were better able to cope this time around. I was encouraged by that sequence of seven straight wins, yet it seems like it was that which was out of character for us before we’ve reverted to old, familiar, maddening type."
