Re: Sunderland post match
Mertesacker rumored to have damaged his knee ligaments, so damn angry because of that. Wish Sunderland get a heavy fine for a poorly managed pitch.
Szczesny man of the match for me, top drawer stuff from the lad today.

Just beautiful, I love it. Hope Mertesacker isn't as badly injured as some people are saying.
The 'pitch' was a disgrace. The result is even better considering we were playing in a swamp.

Rosicky was great again. Pity about Mertesacker, he was starting to adjust well. All about Henry today though.

"Other than that everyone was pretty meh."
And by that I mean we didn't/couldn't make enough chances.

Orbinho Orbinho
Mikel Arteta made 116 passes with a 94% completion rate today - 76 more passes than the highest Sunderland player.
Impressive. I forgot to mention Per. Hopefully, he is OK.

Didn't see how the BFG got injured, did he get his boots stuck in the pitch or what?

Re: Sunderland post match
Big blow to the BFG... Hope it's not too serious. Disgraceful pitch for a club of Sunderlands stature it looked like a cow pasture. Other than that, I'm loving every minute of Henry being with us again. I never got to see him live in the glory days so this is a dream come true. Wish it could last for longer but I'll take what I get.
Thought Walcott turned in a pretty average performance and Sunderland seemed to have the Ox figured out as well. He'll need to learn to up his game in fixtures like this in the future to make himself more effective.
Otherwise we were pretty solid in the middle and showed resolve at the back. Their goal was terribly unlucky and would never have happened on a half-decent surface.

Re: Sunderland post match
In the context of our next few games, a huge win. Henry still has that extra bit of class - his legs may not be able to move as fast as they used to, but technically he's far superior to Park and Chamakh. This loan has exceeded anyone's realistic expectations, but it is a huge shame that he isn't staying for a little longer. We're still one injury to RVP away from our season imploding.
Really hope Mertesacker is back soon. It will be nice to see TV at centre back next week though. Who should we play at left back in Milan? Coquelin? Gibbs? Surely the latter is a going to be short for such a huge game.
