I don't see anything happening either. No one realistic who would improve the squad. But I'd never heard of Sagna, Cazorla, Viera, Petit or Pires before we signed them...

But when we sign Song for 200k and sell him for 20m suddenly it's : ''arsenal always sell their best player, I can't see them progressing''

One thing I have seen is Essien, has been on the bench in all 5 CFC games so far this season but not tonight, would suggest he is going somewhere...but to us?

I would take Essien, but he isn't the same player as he was 2-3 years ago. If only we signed Cabaye last year when he was available for 3-4m.

Out attacking options are not that great either, we are 1-2 injuries away from a disaster.

Just had a message...(and yes I know how this might sound)...from a friend of mine he is one of the nutters that hangs around the ground on transfer day...there are a few of them heading backwards and forwards from the pub accross from Stamford bridge..he has overheard quite a few people..ie the press talking about essien to arsenal.

I think at one point in time Michael Essien was the worlds best defensive midfielder, allbeit for 6-12 months. Whilst he obviously isnt that player anymore, he does lack some pace, but, he can still be usefull for us to add extra bite in midfield and maybe more importantly, when he would play, would allow Arteta to express himself further forward.

Personally I cant see it happening but its nice to have at least a bloody rumour about us getting someone in...

I will say this if we used him as he should be used the lack of his pace could do us a benefit as we want someone to just sit infront of the back four and not worry about the attacking I belive it's where we went wrong with song he was deployed and allowed to wonder forward as we were light on attacking options...as that's changed now I would quite happily take Michael....as said a handfull of games and let's face it prob won't get back into chelsea squad the way they are buying...

Latest on twitter is that Essien will be going on loan, but not to Arsenal according to RDM.

Yeah all over that its not us, apparently he was offered to us and we declined, this morning. I think thats it now, not being negative but ive been watching allday, and now im turning off.

Remember what normally happens with us.....its late or never lol...I won't be switching off til 1am....those late deals as long as the paperwork is in before 11 can still be signed.....
