Arsenal Vs Liverpool
Saturday 3rd March 12:45 GMT KO
Gerrard substituted with just over half-an-hour on the clock.
Any news on his injury?
vermaelen played full 90 minutes for belgium even with his knock.
i predict a hard fought victory for us

Re: Arsenal Vs Liverpool
Gerrard won't play against us.
Liverpool will probably bend over and take a spanking from us. Their home form has been appalling.

Re: Arsenal Vs Liverpool
Payback for the result at the Emirates, hopefully...
Doubt we'll win this one. Pool haven't been good at home against many of the clubs below them in the table but they have one of the best defenses in the league. I'm predicting a return to the 1-1 draws we've come to know so well over the past few years.
Hopefully we'll be able to produce the attack/defense balance we managed against spurs at the weekend- combining our possession game with dropping a bit deeper without the ball so we can break forward.
RvP only playing 45 minutes is great news and Gerrard will be a loss for them (even if he's nowhere near the form he had a year or two ago). I can see us gaining control of the midfield but struggling to break them down or find space.
Would you all keep Benayoun on the left, or is Gervinho close to regaining his place?

Re: Arsenal Vs Liverpool
I can see a draw again. I say 'again' because 6 of the last 9 matches between the sides have been a draw, which wouldn't be the worst result if we can back that up with 3 points against Newcastle next weekend. 7 points from Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle would be a good haul. A win would be absolutely lovely though and would put a massive dent in Liverpool's top 4 ambitions and put pressure on both Chelsea and Tottenham who play after us.
It will be tough as they don't really lose at Anfield (unbeaten this season) and against the top sides this season they have gone:
1-1 vs Man Utd
2-1 vs Man Utd (Cup)
1-1 vs Man City
2-2 vs Man City (Cup)
0-0 vs Tottenham
... but they don't really win at Anfield, either. As well as those draws against the top sides, they have drawn:
1-1 vs Sunderland
1-1 vs Norwich
0-0 vs Swansea
1-1 vs Blackburn
0-0 vs Stoke
Both teams will be flying after last Sunday but the international break will probably slightly halt the momentum of both teams. Song had to travel to Guinea Bissau and played 90mins and Gerrard has got a knock and Agger is out (no idea when he got this injury btw, was it last weekend?). And then there's Gervinho, who according to Arsenal.com -
Ivory Coast 0-0 Guinea
Wednesday, February 29
Gervinho played 90 minutes of Ivory Coast's goalless draw with Guinea in Abidjan before being replaced in the second half.
I would go with the same team, if possible, as last weekend as they've earned the right to start. Hopefully everyone returns ok, luckily RVP only played the 45mins and many others either didn't play or didn't play the whole match.

If they are missing all those player (Agger, Gerrard and Johnson) then we really have a great chance to win this game, a win will give us a huge boost before Milan game and who knows what might happen then.

Don't kid yourself, Milan are through we don't stand a chance.
Re: Arsenal Vs Liverpool
Liverpool up their game against the top sides. That said, we can still win this given our players return without injuries.

Lets not all get ahead of ourselves, this will be a tough game. You cant argue with a point at Anfield.

I would love to see us have vp and walcott up front Benny on the left with ox on the right..
Scare the shit out of them with the pace...

It wont be a easy game.Liverpool will play pressing game as they have done against all top sides. Our midfield is gonna get no time on the ball. Its gonna be a challenge. Will be interesting to see what kind of tactics we come up with.

This is why I would like to see pace used against them...get behind them as quickly as possible, even do a trick from ol big Sam's bag and launch a couple over the top for Theo to latch onto...

Re: Arsenal Vs Liverpool
Theo vs Enrique should be interesting. Enrique is a good defender but he is not the fastest, I think Theo could really do damage in this area especially after last week's performance. I am not worried about Suarez against TV/Kos as that's the type of forward they like defending against.

Re: Arsenal Vs Liverpool
I am strangely expecting TV to keep Suarez quiet for most of the game....
As I said for the pace if we go ahead with it and have them on from the start it could be a better game than expected...

Re: Arsenal Vs Liverpool
This is a tougher game than Spurs.
Against Spurs, we were playing at home, had a full week to prepare, and our best defence available all week to prepare.
This time, we have had many players away on international duty, arriving back at various times, playing the Saturday early game.
I predict a loss. A draw or win would be a big effort.
