We are the anti Arsenal this game.
Goalkeeper having a blinder.
Scoring against the run of play.
Have tonnes of shots at us and still Liverpool didn't score a single goal.

I can't see how anyone can dispute that Robin Van Persie is the best striker in Europe, and probably the world.

Right up there.....
As for the game it makes a change for us to scrap out a win in this way.
But hey spurs last week Liverpool this...bring them on....bring it...

Arsenal captain Robin van Persie:
"It means a lot to score at Anfield because it is a massive ground. We're proud of the win and I don't think we deserved it. Liverpool played better, but to nick it at the end is pleasing."

Re: ARSENAL V LIVERPOOL post match
It was always going to be an uncomfortable afternoon. 90 minutes of having to look at the mugs of Kuyt, Spearing and Dalglish isn't easy.
Alls well that ends well.
My thoughts on the game:
1) Keeping the most in-form player in the league is essential. The difference between him and Suarez was clear. You can have all the skill in the world, lots of spark etc. I never believed, however, that Suarez would score, he just doesn't do it at the moment, making a mockery of those Eredivise scoring stats. RvP on the other hand only needs to make his talent tell once or twice a match and it's won.
2) Our record at Anfield is excellent, bar three losses in a row in the league in the middle of the 00s. Unlike going to Utd, we're always in with a chance here even when Liverpool are on top, like today.
3) Song to van Persie is becoming a classic. Song is becoming more consistent and supporters appreciate the need to task risks more now! It was brilliant to see van Persie recognise Song's contribution. RvP is almost a deity, but if anyone had any doubts, they now know that he recognises the service (albeit intermittent) that he receives as well!
4) This may sound bad, but I was relived that it was Arteta, not Song that had to go off injured. With Coquelin and Frimpong unavailable, Song really is irreplaceable in that squad. Arteta, on the other hand, didn't look particularly suited to this kind of game today. I was sorry to see him go off, and hope he's OK, but sometimes I don't think we need Arteta.
5) Watching Walcott makes me age. That shot from out wide was ridiculous.
6) Wenger's substitutes were well-judged again. Judging just on league form we have nothing to complain about. 4 important wins in a row since that miserable January period. It must continue!
7) We owed Liverpool that after limply losing to them at home earlier this season. We are a better side than them. They were on top for most of toady's match but their motley crew of average midfield muppets couldn't be allowed to prevail against us!
(Edit)
One more thing. What price on the return of our full-backs? They are such an important part of our team and Sagna in particular looks very determined to make up for lost time at the moment. Gibbs has been encouraging too. Now I'm just praying that our CBs stay fit!
Alls well that ends well.
