West Brom vs Arsenal
20:00 on Wednesday the 25th of September
@ The Hawthorns
I like Carling Cup games as you get to see a few players you don't normally get to. It's fun to predict the starting line up also.
Here is my predicted/preferred line up:
-------------- Viviano -------------
Jenkinson -- Per -- Verm -- Nacho
--------- Arteta -- Frimpong ---------
Gnarby ------ Zelalem ------ Miyachi
-------------- Akpom -------------
Bench: Bendtner, Gibbs, Eisfeld, Hayden, Yennairs, Olsson, Bellerin

I like Carling Cup games as well because it is a chance to see youngsters, fringes, and people who need game time like Mikel and Thomas.

Jenkinson Bacary Vermaelen Nacho
Arteta Frimpong
Gnabry Zalalem Myaichi
Bendtner
Bench: Chuba, Eisfeld, Yennaris, Fabianski, Ramsey, Hayden Bellerin

I also had the thought that Wenger may give Sagna more practice at centre back, but Bac pushes it so hard in games and may need rest, where as Per cruises through games and I reckon could play every second day..Vanig Bostanian wrote:I like Carling Cup games as well because it is a chance to see youngsters, fringes, and people who need game time like Mikel and Thomas.

Re: West Brom vs Arsenal
Arsène Wenger says the side he fields against West Bromwich Albion in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday evening will have a mixture of youth and experience.
The manager has used the competition to blood young players in previous years and will not change his approach - irrespective of Arsenal's league position.
Serge Gnabry made his Arsenal debut in last year's third-round victory against Coventry City and is set to be one of a number of teenagers included at the Hawthorns.
[I] take the competition very seriously as well because it's an opportunity to win a trophy. We don't want to neglect that
Arsène Wenger"I will try to find a good balance between experience and youth," Wenger told Arsenal Player. "At the back you will have players you know well. Up front, you have a bit more improvisation and young players.
"You will see Gnabry again - everybody knows him already. Maybe the return of Bendtner as well, who will get a chance. That's the kind of team we will have.
"We want to win this competition as well. I try to find the right balance between giving a needed breather to some players like Wilshere and Ramsey, who have given a lot.
"[I] take the competition very seriously as well because it's an opportunity to win a trophy. We don't want to neglect that.
"Having said that, we play again on Saturday and we play again on Tuesday. We had to play the qualifier of the Champions League which were two tough games."

Re: West Brom vs Arsenal
Wenger has said that Bendtner will definitely be in the squad. There has since been a lot of hype and expectation that Bendtner will start. Is Akpom fit? Considering Akpom's pre-season, and Bendtner's lack of match practice due to injury, I would expect Akpom to start with Bendtner coming on at 60 mins. But who knows..

I don't feel too comfortable about this game. They are a Premier League side and we could do with more first teamers, but we can't field them due to our injuries, so I'm only hoping for the best.

This game isn't going anywhere, bunch a lads who've never played together out there. No understanding amongst the players, set pieces our best hope of goals tonight by the looks of things.

I've found one with French commentary, if anyone is interested? :DThis always happens, I find one without lag after posting on the forum and there's no chemistry in the side...

Nothing can be worse than the league cup match in the snow a few seasons back. It was freezing in the ground then RvP set up Vela twice with backheeled passes and Vela found a way to fuck both up. Urrgghhh.
