So it's the NLD. It is unacceptable for the guys to not be pumped up for this game. Whilst we are in terrible form right now, Tottenham are in such a form as well losing both against Wigan and City. We have enough quality to beat them and if you look at the goals we've conceded so far, they are stupid individual errors. We can iron them out by just focusing on the game and not having brain farts. Szczesny is a welcome addition to the squad and I fully expect him to start. Mannone has done OKish according to his standards, but we can't continue with him. Gibbs was labeled as a long-term injury by Wenger the other day, so I think Vermaelen will stay at left back and Koscielny will start alongside Per. I must say I have some concerns over our captain. Another key figure in our system this year is Arteta. Teams seem to have learned that by shutting him down we won't be able to play well, so hopefully Wenger finds a new tactic to counter that. I'm sorry I can't see a win here. I'm going for a 2-1 loss to the ones whose names should not be mentioned. Giroud to score our goal. Lineup:
Szczesny
Sagna Per Koscielny Vermaelen
Wilshere Cazorla Arteta
Walcott Giroud Podolski

Will have to agree with Vanig I am afraid. I don't think current team / squad getting too excited or fired up for anything - the NLD won't be any different.

Although the current squad might not get too pumped up for this they will be told the value of this game.....I see a back to winning was with this one funnier enough...

2-0 arsenal....

Is this the state of affairs here? Just five hours until kick off and there are only 4 (now 5) posts in the match thread for the NORTH LONDON DERBY??? Seriously? Is it the forum or is it the team?

I know as a fan, there isn't a whole lot to get excited about with the current squad, but if we can't rouse ourselves up - the fans that actually care about this rivalry - then how do you expect players who, until the start of the season, had no association with the club to get excited?

TEAM NEWS

Arsenal look set to recall goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny after two months out with an ankle injury.

Jack Wilshere is available after suspension but Bacary Sagna, Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Mikel Arteta are all concerns for Arsene Wenger.

Tottenham remain without Mousa Dembele, who is still troubled by the hip injury that has kept him out for a month.

Jermain Defoe, Kyle Walker and Aaron Lennon all suffered hamstring problems last weekend but should be fit.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

Tottenham have lost only one of their last five north London derbies with Arsenal: their 5-2 away defeat in February. It is almost two years to the day (20 November) since Tottenham's last win at the Emirates - a memorable 3-2 victory having trailed 2-0 at half-time. There have been 29 goals scored in the six Premier League meetings between these clubs at the Emirates - an average of 4.8 goals per game. One hundred goals have been scored in 32 derbies between the sides since Arsene Wenger took charge of Arsenal (the Gunners have scored 61 compared to Tottenham's 39).

Arsenal

This is Arsenal's worst start to a season since 1982-83, when they had only 14 points after 11 games. Arsenal have won only two home games so far this season: the 6-1 demolition of Southampton and the 1-0 win over QPR. The Gunners conceded just six goals in their opening nine matches in all competitions but have let in 16 goals in their last eight games. Olivier Giroud scored the Gunners' first headed goal of the season last weekend against Fulham.

As for posting....I was saying only a week or two ago no one seams to come on here...
still sticking to my 2-0 win today...gearing up for it as I type...
Shower..check.........fryup..check..........pre game routine...check...and off we go!!!!!!

Spurs start with Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor up front for the first time in the league this season, and Hugo Lloris returns in goal for the first time in a league match since 7 October.

Defintely this team is so depressing that people don't even want to discuss it anymore because, as Meshaal said, everything that's needed to be said has already been said yet nothing has changed...

Anyway for today I expect a typically shit performance with lack of urgency... I anxiously a wait my humble pie. Apparenly Henry and Sol were at the stadium today and greeted the players on arrival, now if that shit doesn't get you pumped up for THE NORTH LONDON derby then frankly you should never wear an Arsenal shirt ever again...

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, speaking ahead of kick-off at the Emirates Stadium: "It is a pivotal game. Spurs at home is always a very big game and we have to make ground up in the league - we need the points.

"Vito Mannone has done very well but Wojciech Szczesny is our number one, he is back and it is a natural move. I have had to take risks in my team, a few have knocks. Bacary Sagna was a big doubt but I hope he goes well."
