Yann M'Vila
Sources say we'll be unveiling him after WBA match. Never seen much of him but from what I've heard from numerous people, he's the kind of player who sits in front of back four. Very good defensively. Strong, good tackles. He's an anchorman type of a midfielder.

He really would make an unbelievable difference to our team, thats why I dont believe it, I cant see us breaking our equalibrium that weve had for so long

Re: Yann M'Vila
Wow I would be pleasnantly surprised were this to happen... He's the kind of "fuck you" in your face player that our team has cried out for at times throughout these last few years, yet he's not reckless. Been very good whenever I've watched France play for the past year or so. He's not Blanc's most used player for no reason.

Well then we'll just have to wait. One thing if this happens, it is very excellent.
We conclude our deals before Euro and CL qualifications. Give them time to settle in the squad.
I can see this happening.

Re: Yann M'Vila
He is a brick wall with a pass as well, our midfield is crying out for someone like this, continually going missing and exposing our defence to balls in behind and runners from midfield, he would help there alot.
Surely not...

He is Denilson, only with talent, a strong will, a few more inches where it matters and a French passport.

This rumour won't transform into reality imo. Better to not expect and get pleasantly surprised than to think it'll happen and be disappointed when it doesn't, like every summer.

Re: Yann M'Vila
14m? Sounds far, far too low, since he was much more than that in the summer and I don't think his contract is expiring. 70k? I'd have maybe expected more.
How strong are these rumors, objectively? Who is the source, are they reliable?
I don't want to think about how you know this...

I haven't seen anything about it anywhere, so I'm assuming it's a load of bollocks until demonstrated otherwise.

Re: Yann M'Vila
He'd be perfect. With him, Podolski, Song, and our current defenders (hopefully Vertonghen added to that), we'll have a physically strong team with lots of talent.

I really hope it's true and I'm not gonna say it's not possible. Plus, I don't think I have heard a big club after him so it may well happen.

Re: Yann M'Vila
It certainly seems like a strong rumor. Podolski and M'Vila alone would be excellent (if insufficient) transfer business. If we WERE to get Vertonghen as well, it would be a curious but not unwelcome signing.
Ideally I'd be very happy with Podolski, M'Vila, Vertonghen, Hoilett and a backup keeper. I don't think it's beyond the realms of realism, but probably not likely.
And as has been said many times, it's just as important to get rid of the deadwood as well. Bendtner, Vela, Denilson, Park, Almunia, Fabianski, Squillaci, Diaby and a few others. I have a soft spot for Chamakh, and seeing how he's had some decent cameos recently, I may be more patient with him.

Re: Yann M'Vila
I can't see us going for him given our current midfield situation. For the money he'd cost, he'd have to be a starter week-in week-out, and with Wilshere returning next season I'm not sure how our midfield would look.
Bench Song? He's tied with RvP for most assists in the PL.
Bench Mikel? He's been our most consistent performer and our results clearly suffer when he's out.
Bench Wilshere? Easily our best player in 2010/2011 in his debut season and already one of the first names on the roster for England.
Bench Rosicky? He's the creative spark we've been crying for since the departure of Cesc and Nasri. Drives the ball forward like no other.
Not to mention Ramsey, Diaby, Coquelin, who have all been decent when called upon.
And let's not forget the midfield maestro that is Denilson is returning too.

Bench Walcott play Rosicky / a new CAM behind RVP and Podolski, then We have a midfield of Arteta, Song and M'vila.

Re: Yann M'Vila
Clubs like City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern and even United don't worry about this. If you want to be successful, especially when it gets busy in February to May, you need back up for every position.
Benayoun is an example of this. Was keen to leave based on the first 6 months, but now is keen to stay. And he would have played a lot more if we had stayed in some comps a bit longer, by beating Milan and Sunderland.
For example, despite being 4th choice, Djourou has started 14 (+ 4 sub appearences) premiership games this season.

You had me til you stopped saying "Bench _______?"
Ramsey needs to go on loan... I still believe he will one day be a solid Arsenal midfielder, he just needs to go somewhere he can play every match in the middle of the park and thread passes, rather than try all this back-heel shit he does now, thinking it will secure him a first team spot... Diaby, well, just get healthy... but he loses possession more often than he creates chances (though he is known to make those unbelievable runs on the ball)... Coquelin... I'm fine sitting him on the bench as cover for the right back or the Song role (tho not convinced he has the mettle to compete with Song).... Denilson tho? Never liked him as an Arsenal player... got bullied, got hurt... scored some cool goals, but did he really do anything Mikel Arteta didn't do for us this season?
