Re: Andre santos
Less depth for our already paper thin squad though...

I'd rather have Coquelin, Miquel, or Yennaris at left back.

Re: Andre santos
Jenko has played there for Charlton, Sagna must be able to do a job, even Rambo. They would all be better options that Santos

Re: Andre santos
Ramsey looked pretty capable at RB against Sunderland. Was pleasantly surprised. I'd take him, Jenks, Sagna, Coquelin , Miquel etc all over Santos at fullback.

Re: Andre santos
I think most of us will agree with that, Santos was never anywhere near the level of someone who should be at this great club, goodluck to him and I hope he leaves permanantly in the summer like many others. We have made some terrible signings over the last 3/4 years, to think we used to moan about Clichy and Eboue, both more solid than Santos ever was. I just hope whoever is going to play LB is already playing there in training sessions...

Re: Andre santos
So, if TV isn't back for first leg of Bayern, who would you play at LB? Sagna LB and Jenks RB?
(That's Carl Jenkinson, not Jenks1981! )

A jar of pickled onions is better than Santos. Although I'm sure you're better than the onions lol

Re: Andre santos
By the time it had got to the pitch it would just be a jar and Santos' breath would smell like pickled onions

Re: Andre santos
What if I told you...
That santos is a better footballer than Gervinho... if you considered him a winger instead...
and that is what I'm talking about, after poldi, theo and ox then we head into Gervinho and Arshavin territory. No one's denying Santos is an awful defender, quite possibly one of our worst value for money defensive purchases ever. But santos always had a bit of creativity about him on the wing. Everyone will argue maybe that Gerv is better but I refuse to give that the time of day, so maybe I'm bias, but to me gerv is the epitomy of everything wrong with our attacking play, indecisiveness amd terrible awful horrible finishing. I'd love him to feed me some humble pie but I have no faith that he'll manage that unfortunately. And Arshavin, the less said about him the better, long long past it unfortunately and doesn't even look like creating things like he used to anymore when he does somehow manage to make it onto the pitch.

I agree with Jason. Whilst I prefer a jar of pickles over Santos at left back, I'd still prefer Santos over Gervinho on the left wing. That said, I just wish neither of them gets to wear the red and white shirt again. Ever!

Unfortunately Wenger does not give up on players so easily. I am sure we will be seeing plenty of Gervinho in the remaining fixtures - squad rotation and all.

Especially after his heroics / performances at the AFCoN.
