Swansea's pressing against us is always excellent. We've been forced into a few mistakes.
One of the stats quoted prior to the game was that all the goals in the four games we played against Swansea last season were scored in the second half. The games tended to open out later on, so fitness and patience will be key.

swansea playing us so far, bad finish by giroud at the last minute ... fingers crossed we don't have to bring in bendtner. we need to step it up on the second half

Not really. It's not through lack of trying.Michael Foster wrote:poor poor poor first half...need wenger to dish out a bollocking!!!
Swansea have generally been very tough to play this half while being a danger on the break.
That front three isn't right. Wilshere can't play out wide and Gnabry is too raw to contribute much, even if that run shows his potential. Giroud isn't quite right physically and in any case he's no striking God.
We'll have to tough this one out for the win.

Agree with that thought, Giroud looks like someone who could do with a break. Worrying considering its only the beginning of the season.John Foxall wrote:Not really. It's not through lack of trying.Michael Foster wrote:poor poor poor first half...need wenger to dish out a bollocking!!!

Re: Arsenal v Swansea
Despite the excitement over the Ozil signing, we're woefully short up front and we could even do with a genuine winger in the squad too. Podolski and Walcott aren't that. Just look at how successful Jesus Navas has been!Meshaal wrote:Agree with that thought, Giroud looks like someone who could do with a break. Bendtner is fairly worthless other than as a substitute lump for Giroud. After that I think it's time Wenger called back Joel Campbell from his loan at Olympiakos. He's a proud stubborn man, but there's only untested kids after that. Woeful embarrassing situation given how much time we've had to sort it out. Just because we couldn't get Higuain doesn't mean we just sign no-one. Seville got Kevin Gameiro, he would've been a useful signing for us just to name one.

Are we seeing signs of Gnabry taking charge?

- Some impressive performances for his country.
- Has made an impact at all the sides where he has played on loan. I saw him play for Lorient on the left-wing and he looked quite sharp. Scored a few goals.
- Has appeared a few times for Olympiakos so far this season, no idea how he's performed.
It could just be substitute appearances but I think he could offer something. After seeing our lack of squad depth recently, I badly think we need someone. If Giroud gets injured we're fucked. We don't even have a forward like Arshavin who can play as a false 9 if needed.

Re: Arsenal v Swansea
We got to see the best of Giroud, Wilshere and Ramsey for that second goal.
And that really was the finish of a confident player at the top of his game.
