Arsenal v Norwich Empty Arsenal v Norwich

Post by Michael Foster Fri Oct 19, 2012 2:23 am

Saturday 20th October
17:30 GMT
Carrow Road

Well here we are again after the quite frankly pointless results of the international break......

So we lost Theo to yet another England Injurie...what's that 3 now??
But it's back.....we take on my second home Norwich at Carrow road...hopefully managing to nab some tickets to see this fingers crossed
This could be the start of a little run of points for us to launch us back into the mix of the top 4....

All being well I fancy a good away win here....

3-1

It feels like months since the West Ham game. Very happy to have Arsenal back playing!

I guess the main questions are who will play the 2 CB positions. Maybe Mertersacker and Vermaelen? Who will play CM next to Arteta. Ramsey or Coquelin (I assume Diaby is still out). I guess Giroud will start up front, with Gervinho in Right Forward.

The whole team plays better with Giroud in it, so Giroud for me, should be an automatic starter. My lineup wuld be:
Mannone
Jenkinson Mertesacker Vermaelen Santos
Ramsey Cazorla Arteta
Gervais GIroud Poldi
I'm quite confident we can get the win.

Arsenal v Norwich Empty Re: Arsenal v Norwich

Post by Vanig Bostanian Fri Oct 19, 2012 5:45 pm

With the game against Norwich tomorrow very much on the horizon, Arsene Wenger has provided an injury update ahead of the trip to Carrow Road.

As expected Theo Walcott misses out after being smashed in the ribs by the San Marino goalkeeper. A bruised lung is causing him to lose his breath quickly but the winger is not expected to be out long term.

Also missing is Kieran Gibbs whose thigh strain has not recovered sufficiently in time for him to play, but again he’s likely to be back sooner rather than later and could even make the midweek game against Schalke. Andre Santos will deputise tomorrow.

There was more worrying news about Abou Diaby and Tomas Rosicky with the manager suggesting both are a ‘few weeks’ away from a first team return, having been ‘a few weeks’ away for the last little while. Both players are notoriously slow healers but with Wilshere and Sagna heading for a first team return they could pick up the slack.

And with regards Lukas Fabianski, there was confirmation that the Pole had suffered an ankle injury.

“Fabianski sees a specialist today,” he said. “I don’t know what will come out of that. It’s an ankle ligament problem – a new problem. He was back in training before that.

“Szczesny I think is two weeks away.”

I feel sorry for Diaby and Rosicky. Must be so frustrating for them. Just when they pick up some form, another injury.

Hopefully we get a clean sheet, it has been some time since those 3 in a row.
3-0, Giroud brace and Vermaelen.

Can't wait for some proper football. For me Giroud has to start, especially after banging one in against Spain.

-------Manonne
Jenks--Mert--TV--Santos
---Rambo--Dreamy
-------Cazorla
Gerv--Giroud--Podolski

edit: Vanig beat me to it.

Talk going around Twitter (apparantly originally from Wilshere's agent) that Jack is in the squad for tomorrow. Absolutely brilliant news if true. I can see him getting 15-20 mins near the end if we've got a comfortable lead.

I certainly hope we don't rush him back. A midfield of Arteta Cazorla Ramsey/Coquelin should be too much for Norwich anyway. I think he will not get any game time tomorrow, just a boost for the squad and to spread some good mood among the crowd who will be happy to see him back on the bench.

Even with Theo out of today's squad Chamakh still can't make the bench. Gnabry ahead of him.
