I kinda hope the Diaby injury is a fake one just so he doesn't play 2 games in 4 days..

Walcott is ill, not injured. Still 5 days before the game so he may get better in time, but I can see Wenger only putting him on the bench. What was Diaby's injury? Not heard anything.

Diaby has "muscular discomfort", so Deschamps isn't taking a risk with him. Which is a great thing to hear.

Still have a few days or so to go before the next match, but this is probably what Wenger alluded too when he said Diaby needs to be watched very carefully.

Sounds like a 10 month injury..

Stunning strike! Has goals for the U21's at Arsenal already as well this season, got to be a starter against Coventry for me, at 21 most players that havent broke through are done but maybe Henderson will be an exception given his bad injury, but midfield is so packed...

Gotta say it's nice to not feel a sense of dread when you read that Van Persie has picked up an injury on international duty! Lol!

A round-up of Arsenal player performances last night from AshburtonGrove.co.uk:

- Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain played 69 minutes of England's 1-1 draw with Ukraine at Wembley last night. Theo Walcott was not involved as he'd already been released from the squad due to illness.

- Aaron Ramsey captained Wales as they lost 6-1 to Serbia at the Karadjordje Stadium. Ramsey played the whole 90 minutes and was yellow carded.

- Thomas Vermaelen played the whole 90 minutes as Belgium held Croatia to a 1-1 in Brussels.

- Neither Lukas Podolski or Per Mertesacker started in Germany's win over Austria. However the attacker was used as a second half substitute brought on after 75 minutes in his sides 2-1 win.

- Johan Djourou played the whole 90 minutes of Switzerland's 2-0 victory over Albania in Lucerne.

- Lukasz Fabianski was an unused substitute in Poland 2-0 win over Moldova.

- Santi Cazorla was a 64 minute substitute for David Silva in Spain's 1-0 win over Georgia.

- Olivier Giroud played 61 minutes for France in their 3-1 win over Belarus. Laurent Koscielny and Abou Diaby were unused substitutes.

Chelsea full-back Ryan Bertrand has been added to the England squad after Kieran Gibbs was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Arsenal left-back Gibbs picked up a knock during the Gunners' Premier League victory over West Ham United on Saturday evening, forcing Hodgson into a late addition for the games against San Marino and Poland.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was pessimistic about Gibbs' chances of playing for England after limping off just before the hour-mark against the Hammers, and his exclusion was subsequently confirmed by medical staff.

"He has a thigh problem just above his knee; I think he will be very doubtful for England," Wenger had said on Saturday.

Thigh is one of the easier injuries to recover from, compared to say hamstrings or groins.

Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Giroud, Koscielny, Ramsey, Cazorla all start as do Walcott and the Ox. Podolski on the bench for Germany

Ireland 1-6 Germany
Mertesacker played the 90mins (would have had a clean sheet but for an injury time Irish goal, Per having to cover 2 men from the corner). Podolski came on for the last 25mins. What a spanking.

England 5-0 San Marino
The Ox played the whole game and scored a nice goal. Theo played about 5 minutes and is staying in hospital overnight.

Serbia 0-3 Belgium
Vermaelen played the whole game. That's some result.

Belarus 0-4 Spain
Cazorla played the whole game, ffs.

France 0-1 Japan
Koscielny and Giroud played the whole game.

Wales 2-1 Scotland
Ramsey played the whole game and got booked. Bale with two late goals for Wales, the winner was really good.

Switzerland 1-1 Norway
Djourou played the whole game.

Bulgaria 1-1 Denmark
Bendtner scored and played 90mins.
