Arsenal Internationals Empty Arsenal Internationals

Post by Mario Mon Feb 27, 2012 10:22 pm

According to YoungGuns, Rosicky has pulled out of the Czech squad. And Vermaelen may do likewise for Belgium. Hopefully it's just precautionary. With the Euros coming up it's obvious he will play but I'm hoping RVP plays no more than an hour, ideally a half. As for African nations playing friendlies a couple of weeks after the end of the AFCON... seriously. At least Song has a qualifier so it's understandable that he must play. But it's not the best preparation for a goddamn 12.45pm Saturday kick off at Anfield.

An injury to any of our starters could be devastating for our season, must do our best to keep all our guys away from international duty.

Doesn't anyone think that AW is pulling a Fergie and saying key players are injured so they don't travel? I mean it was clear RvP was fine but Rosicky and TV looked tired and had knocks...? I wouldn't mind that. We've been done in by these intl breaks so much in the past!

It happens sometimes that club managers state players are injured and international managers call them up anyway and even put them through fitness tests, ridiculous.

I think it was Per who was nowhere near Derdiyok and was out-jumped for the Swiss' 3rd goal.

Podolski is playing too.

Of course, can't place all the blame on him. Germany (from what I saw) were totally shambolic defensively. 5-3, even without Bayern players, is not good enough. They were all over the place.

All over the place, but still, out of our league.
