Re: Arsenal vs. Liverpool
Every single player was great today, Giroud looks nervous but I'm sure he will score soon. Diaby was a wild beast.
I think Manonne is much better than 2 years ago, his loan move to Hull worked well it seems.

I enjoyed the link-up play between Podolski, Santi, Gibbs and Diaby in particular. I get the feeling that Cazorla will be MOTD most matches.
Suarez is a very tricky customer. Will always cause trouble for defences. Most of the close calls were him falling to the ground, or balls pumped high into the box. Agree, not faultless, but still a decent performance.

Really? Absolutely horrific under high balls and generally tentative in his decision-making today. I can't wait for Szczesny to be back. We still have two GKs, he and Fabianski, who aren't what we need from a no.2.

Re: Arsenal vs. Liverpool
Everyone was good today. Diaby and Arteta bossed the game, while Cazorla and Podolski did all the magic. Giroud needs a goal but looks like a good player dispite the misses. Mertesacker and Jenks started nervously but grew into the game. The Ox was not so good but still not bad. Loving the Cazorla-Podolski combinations. Credit to Mannone, despite having some nervy moments, he can be a good backup keeper.

Ox worked hard for the team, I didn't think it was a bad performance.

Re: Arsenal vs. Liverpool
it kind of depresses me thinking about how good we could have been this season had weamaged to hold on to robim van cunt and Sung... but great performance today and hopefully Giroud gets a goal soon to build some confidence, mind, Henry, Pires and bergkamp didnt score till 8+ games in. Really hope Giroud follows their trend

Ox worked hard, but he lacked something today, was poor in possession I thought which could have got us into trouble a few times today

Yeah Ox put in a good defensive shift but his attacking moves didn't work out well today. He was up against a good and quick LB in Enrique though.

Great win, very very pleased. It looks as if it would kill some of you to be happy, if you just can't help but start with the criticism moments after such a good win. Giroud is certainly no Chamakh, Jesus, he's only played two full games away to Stoke and Liverpool for fuck's sake. Give the guy a chance.

Not a bad performance either though. Some wrong decisions and perhaps a tendency to try too much on his own but out of Gervinho, Theo and him, he's clearly the one worth playing atm. His work generally benefits the team more than the other players imo.

I agree with you there, but his mistakes that stood out were when he was losing the ball 40 yards from goal which against decent sides will get punished. He is clearly going to be quality, but there is a lot to work on there particularly his decision making in his own third.

No one doing any player rating?
I shall have a stab in that case.

Jenkinson - 5.5
Arteta - 8
Diaby - 8
Cazorla - 7.5
Podolski - 7

I would give Mannone closer to 5 or 5.5. We coped with Liverpool's attacks pretty easily but once or twice he turned nothing moments into dangerous moments by failing to claim the ball. He was so tentative or just genuinely uncomfortable three or four times.
As for Mertesacker, he did well and got us/himself out of jail once or twice with skillful defensive interventions, but he also put us into trouble twice with his passing. I'd give him a 6.

Fair enough. I felt very confident with Mertesacker today, I think he has done enough so far this season to keep Koscielny out for a few more games.

Yeah he was mostly fine just the pass that forced Arteta to concede the yellow card on Stirling and then another across the pitch that went straight to a Liverpool player. At least I think that was him.

Re: Arsenal vs. Liverpool
I'm pretty sure the pass that led to the Arteta yellow card was from Mertesacker. I'll have to check on the highlights.

I was talking about the pass across the back four to the imaginary full-back.

Re: Arsenal vs. Liverpool
Great result today! Not faultless, but still early days in the season. we've picked up our 1st win, still haven't conceded yet(are we the only team to not have let a goal in to this point?) and that should be a good platform to build on.
Thought Diaby was unplayable at times. Needless to say, Cazorla looks class and so comfortable on the ball. May be Giroud is trying a bit too much. Once he opens his account, he'll be fine imo. Arteta as reliable as always.
Also very pleased with the fact our back-line isn't playing as high as the last couple years.
