Arsenal v Liverpool
Wednesday 30th 19.45 ko
Emirates stadium
Right..here we go let's kick this off....
Big game big points up for grabs and another statement needs to be made...
We are starting to hit the net a bit more freely now I feel we need to start turning over these bigger teams a lot more while we may slip up on lower opposition I feel our class in the long run can address that..
I am looking at a good open game with loads of goals and fancy a 3-2 to us.
The window shutting this week will be a final look if anything Wenger will address...so expecting every player to fight.

Re: Arsenal v Liverpool
In typical Arsenal way, we will come out and win 3-0, then Wenger will say "I told you so, we have an exceptional squad with great mental strength and super quality. Diaby reminded me of Patrick Vieira" only for us to lose and throw a shit performance in the first game after the window closes and Diaby gets his "two to three weeks away" injury.
Rant over!
Anyway, I think we can and should win this game if we want to finish in the top 4. Sagna should be back in the team despite his recent form, I don't care who partners Per at CB, surely Gibbs will start, and the only change I'd make in the midfield is bringing back Cazorla instead of Rosicky. Ramsey is doing the Arteta role just fine and giving him another start there in a big match will give him some much needed confidence and he can build on that. The rest of the team should pick itself up. "Important goal" Podolski on the left, Theo on the right and the handsome dude leads the line.

Re: Arsenal v Liverpool
Early bit of team news....
Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen is available to face Liverpool after overcoming an ankle injury.
Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla are poised to return to the starting line-up after dropping to the bench for the FA Cup win at Brighton.
Fit-again trio Jose Reina, Jose Enrique and Glen Johnson return for Liverpool.
Manager Brendan Rodgers will revert to a more familiar line-up after fielding an inexperienced side in the FA Cup defeat at Oldham
I agree with the selection your saying the only thing i would give jenkinson another run out...he needs a few games to start building on and at this rate if and when sagna goes he will have to come in hardly played and rusty as hell...it might serv as a wake up call to sagna also....

--------------------Szczesny---------------------
Sagna---Mertesacker---Vermaelen---Gibbs
---------------------Ramsey----------------------
--Wilshere----------------------------Cazorla--
Walcott------------Giroud------------Podolski
3-1 to us, one for Cazorla, one for Theo, and a goal for the pretty one as well.

Re: Arsenal v Liverpool
"He continued: "Over a long time I've honestly had enough of people saying Arsenal's defence is not good enough. People judge defence on the back of goals conceded but you have to have a look at the defending in general.
“If my back four are completely exposed against Chelsea – most of the time in the first half there it was four of my defenders against six Chelsea players – they were disadvantaged all the time. You have to look at the defending of the whole team, the shape of the whole team. People blame the Arsenal defenders way too much over the past couple of seasons.
"I feel for them, massively. I try to help them as much as I can. I am happy to take the blame sometimes for a goal conceded if I felt I could do better. They've been hammered.
“Of course sometimes people make mistakes but very often the Arsenal defenders have been criticised too much. It gets to public opinion and once people give you a label of a dodgy defender, whatever you do they look at you closely and there is always something they will find that you have done wrong. It's quite tough."
Szczesny speaking. He just says there is no one to shield the defense.

Re: Arsenal v Liverpool
I like that line-up Hisham. Last time we played them Diaby tore them a new one before he got injured so I wouldn't be shocked to see him play, but after his last two games I'd prefer Ramsey to get the nod. It'd be great for his confidence and he seems to track back and keep the ball well in that position. Maybe if we go into the lead Diaby can come on to help shore things up. With TV only just got it'll be interesting whether Mertesacker is partnered with him or Kos, assuming Per starts.

I´d prefer Ramsey too, lets see how he plays in a real game with real players.

Lots of positivity, can only lead to disappointment as one thing we arent, is consistant.

Yeah if we've got a lead later on, then definitely let Diaby come on for some game time. But Ramsey is doing well and I want him to get a chance today, especially if him impressing Wenger means we won't see him playing right wing anymore.

Re: Arsenal v Liverpool
Recent trend - every time we play one of the bigger teams, we try to hand the match to them in the first 10-20 minutes then run around a little in the 2nd half pretending we were always in it?

We've conceded 13 goals via individual errors this season, the most in the premier league!
