Never out of 2nd gear I guess. A very straight forward easy victory like I predicted. Theo MotM for me. Has been absolutely great lately. Song bossed the game, sexy touches from Rosicky and RvP. Nice little cameo from The Ox as well. Defense never really troubled apart from a couple of shaky moments. They only managed 1 shot on target which I can't even remember. What a beaut from Arteta.

Vermaelen and Sagna were in beast mode as well. Congrats to Gibbs who scored his first Premier League goal. We should also sell van Persie, his goals to game ratio in the last 2 games is equal to that of Torres's. Worrying! Seriously, while I'm always happy when Robin scores, it's good to see the team scoring and winning when he doesn't.

Could it be that our terrible form end of December to Mid February was only down to no fullbacks? and i bit of laziness... Cause we were in great form till we lost our fullbacks, went through that bad run and now they're back and we're continuing where we left off in December...

Djourou turned in a good performance too, encouraging to see.

If we win our next match against QPR we will equal the Invincible's record of eight consecutive wins.

Is the santos substitution to give him some game time or Gibbs injured? Does that mean santos is first choice?

I guess it's game time for Santos who was very important in our first winning run if the season.

Let's finish third and I'll be a very happy man considering our start to the season.

Koscielny has tendinitis. Tried in warm up but couldn't manage full warm up. No indication of length of lay off - JOhn Cross

Isn't that the problem Hargreaves had at united? Yhat kept him out forever? or am I mistaken here? Please tell me I am...

John Cross has iterated that Kos is expected to be fit for QPR, so I think not.

Plenty of positives, well done lads.

On the not so positive side, Ramsey looked like he didnt fit in when he came on, where is he going to fit in when Wilshire is fit? He is clearly talented, a very good player but at the moment taking far too many touches and is not on the same wavelengh as some of his teammates which makes such a difference.

Thought Gervinho was steady, assist and some good work off the ball in defence.

Yes, Gervinho twice ran his ass off when Villa tried to counter from our corner. Imagine having Arshavin instead. Nightmares.

Standouts for me were Rosicky (again, what a transformation!), Theo, and Vermaelen. Great composed performance all around. Nice to see Gibbs get on the scoresheet as well. Farewell, spuds

wenger on Laurent Koscielny…
Koscielny had tendinitis in his knee when he woke up this morning. I don't know what position he slept in but he could not walk properly. He tried in the warm-up but could not play. We decided in the morning when he woke up. He came to see me and said he was not sure that he could play with that pain. So we called somebody up and pushed him in the warm-up. Straight away after the first run he said he could not even move. How bad it is we have to assess.

To be honest, I didn't think the performance was anything special, villa was poor. A few of our corners ended in dangerous counter attacks for them where we got fortunate that their players were so poor, against a good side we could have conceded.

Next, QPR away.. I say 8 consecutive wins!

Good game, wasn't all that exciting, but it's been a little while since we've had a nice, comfortable win. Tendinitis is a bit of a concern, would he be fit for the next game in that case?

Ramsey needs to watch Rosicky play. He needs to develop that quick thinking, one-touch approach. It'll come, it'll come.

One thing I don't understand.. Why does Wenger play Ramsey in the left wing position ?? especially while having benayoun and chamberlain on the bench.

i believe its just for ramsey to have a feel of playing on the wing which may aid his development, which somehow has stalled a little recently. chamberlain did come on later in the game. as for benayoun, most probably he wouldn't be at arsenal the next season so there wouldn't be much purpose in letting him play. if a 'quality' signing like what wenger said was signed, benayoun will be easily replaced by the new guy.
