Santi Cazorla, the only Arsenal player who knows where the fuck to be for a cross.

Well, on a day when our two front men spent most of the time working out which foot was attached to which leg, it's hardly a surprise that three technically accomplished players made that goal.

Cazorla really seems to be carrying us in terms of goals recently, think its 4 in 4 league games now for him...

Not sure how much more I can take of Giroud and Walcott's self-conscious looks when they've just fucked up.

I can't remember Arteta playing a significant part in it. Wilshere did the magic, Montreal the simple square ball to Cazorla.
And yes, useless selfish play from Walcott again.

I think that's a good thing though. Don't get me wrong here, the flaws were plain for all to see: horrid defending, equally bad finishing, no midfielders stopping Villa's counterattacks, no one knowing where to be when a teammate crossed the ball. But it's something that we've praised United for in the past, which is winning games when they're not even close to their best. This is one of the first games I've seen us play in a while where we win while still being quite frankly sub-par. Normally, the moment we drop in quality, we lose the game, no matter who the opposition. We don't have that natural winning instinct that United always seem to have.

Re: Arsenal v Aston Villa
We're not United. The fact that we played like a sieve will never be comforting. We're a-tactical, and AW doesn't look like changing it. I'm worried that this will come back to haunt us in games harder than Villa at home.
In particular the ease with which we can be counter-attacked and the woeful technique and form of Giroud and Walcott are a worry.

Re: Arsenal v Aston Villa
Just got home from the game and fucking hell, how the hell did we squeak a win out of that shitstorm?! Theo was absolutely awful, up until the last 5 mins or so I was having trouble remembering absolutely anything he'd done. About 5 mins before the equaliser I said to my friend 'They're gonna equalise soon', you could just see it coming, I thought they looked dangerous on the break all game and was no surprise when they got the goal. Szczesny really should've easily got to it, I like the kid but he's becoming increasingly suspect this season. Needs to pull his socks up for the next few months. Giroud and Wilshere worked hard and Cazorla took his goals very well, but aside from that everyone was very average. Diaby just didn't look interested, but disappointing he's picked up another injury. When he's fit and gets a good run in the team he can be important.

Re: Arsenal v Aston Villa
Finally watched an Arsenal game and I'm thankful for that. I thought Santi was easily man of the match and some good performances from Jack and Nacho. The rest were very average at best. We're not going to win the league or look like a team that will do anything significant anytime soon so I'm happy with the three points. Everton lost, it's good that we have made some gap with those guys and can start pushing for fourth or even third.
