I read somewhere that no stadiums with brand names are chosen (during the olympics the Ricoh Arena will be called something else). May explain the Emirates not being one. Could be complete bollocks though Neutral

Chris Flanagan told me that only 1 London stadium is allowed to participate. Why name it London 2012 then?

Football is the one sport shared around the country. For the Sydney Olympics, there were football games all over Australia.
