Also here playing Quake 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_mDuJuvZjI&feature=related
Did I mention it costs half the price of an xbox game?

I was about the post this here but you beat me to it. Started with the noble purpose of teaching children programming logic
I can see the hackers and illegal set top box manufacturers salivating about the possibilities of this thing. I cannot wait to get my hand on one of the £22 model B raspberry pi which has an Ethernet port built in. Though Farnell are planning to sell extras in a package, might wait for them to do so. Websites of both Farnell and RS had crashed due to traffic RS are only taking pre orders for them, yours for £22 excluding VAT I guess !!

It's just an ARM processor with some basic input/output ports, a FLASH memory card slot and a freaking HDMI port. You need to have your own monitor, keyboard and mouse. Easy to plug and they have an open source version of Debian Linux loaded into the SD card I guess. Most of the hackers will port their own OS onto it !!

Well, I would wait till the Android phone which dual boots Ubuntu !! You need a dock which is connected to a monitor or a HDTV !! Most new mobile phones will be having quad core mobile processors which meant it was only a matter of time before we had this
I wasn't sure what phone would replace my old symbian Nokia but now I think I have a clear winner.

Re: The Gadget Show
Registered my interest the other day with RS and Farnell for the Raspberry PI. Fuck knows what I'm going to do with it though.
Anyone else looking at getting one to piss around with?

Has anyone got their raspberry pi yet ?? I have ordered 1 from Farnell. Cost me about £29 in total including VAT. Will buy a SD card,USB and HDMI cable from Amazon and save some £££s.

Mine came last week. Not had chance to mess around with it yet. I also need a crash course in Linux. Which OS would you opt for?

Mine arrived this afternoon. Tried Debian Squeeze, booted into linux command line, which I'd forgotten how to use properly. About to try Fedora Pi Remix which looks more promising. I'm going to need a GUI to ease myself into.

Ok, don't install Fedora Pi, there is a login problem that means you can't login to the LXDE gui, so it's largely pointless.
The Debian squeeze GUI is started by the command 'startx'. Desperately slow though
