Frimpong injured for season
On Twitter SSN stating that Wolves have said Frimmy out for season with knee injury, no idea if its the same knee as before or even a similar type of injury.
Literally disaster for the lad, and his career potentially, 2 serious knee injuries at his age, really really bad.

I am so fucking gutted for Frimmy. Could be a decent player but his career could be in jeopardy now with two serious knee injuries at such a young age. Fingers crossed he can recover as I really like the lad.

Re: Frimpong injured for season
Arsenal Football Club can confirm that on-loan midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee whilst playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Queens Park Rangers during the first half of Saturday’s Premier League fixture at Loftus Road.
Having had a similar injury to his left knee in 2010, Emmanuel will see specialists in London over the next few days before having surgery and starting a programme of rehabilitation.
Emmanuel is expected to be out for a number of months and will therefore miss the remainder of this season.
Everyone at Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers wish Emmanuel a swift recovery.
----------------------------------
Terrible news for him, just as he was starting to get games for Wolves as well. You have to wonder what a 2nd cruciate injury will do to his career. Another how many months out, then having to get back up to speed to even start playing again, will his body hold up when he does... for now just wish him good luck and those questions will answer themselves in time.

Re: Frimpong injured for season
I think this sets him back for this entire year really, and by the time he regains fitness and some form potentially the beginning of the 203/14 season before he is back to where he is now. Shocking...

Re: Frimpong injured for season
Poor kid. Two cruciates done in two seasons does not bode well for his future. I suppose its better that the injuries happened on different knees instead of the same one twice but either way...
Very, very unfortunate to lose two consecutive years of development.

Re: Frimpong injured for season
Emmanuel Frimpong has shed light on his short spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers and revealed that he was so impressed with Scottish striker Steven Fletcher that he suggested the 24-year-old join Arsenal.
Despite having his time at Molineux cruelly cut short by a cruciate knee ligament injury, the second time he’s suffered such a problem, the Ghanaian enforcer also spoke in admiring terms about the attitude and spirit within the Wolves set-up.
“I think Steven Fletcher is a good player, I told him to come to Arsenal!” Frimpong told the Arsenal official matchday programme of a player who has scored ten goals this term.
“Stephen Ward at left-back isn’t bad either. They’ve got decent players, and the thing about them is that everyone works so hard.
“They base everything around work – people there even told me they haven’t got the ability of some of the teams in the Premier League and need to make up for that by working hard and I think that’s the right attitude.”
Reflecting fondly on his period away from Arsenal, Frimpong hinted that he could one day return if another loan spell was deemed necessary: “As a footballer you sometimes have to make decisions, and I think going to Wolves was probably the best thing I could have done.
“They may not have been doing too well, but the manager [recently departed Mick McCarthy] was very good to me – I think it’s very important to go to a manager who likes you, and he showed belief in me.
“He put me in the team, and I’m just happy that I was able to do him proud on the pitch. I had a great time, and if I come back from injury and need some games then I’d be happy to go back there.”

Fletcher can't be any worse than what we have as striking options, but I don't want him.

I like Fletcher but at this rate we might as well give Afobe a chance over Park and Chamakh.

What exactly has Fletcher done to warrant that sort of abuse apart from score against us?

Really? We look more like scoring if we put Almunia up front than when Chamakh is on the pitch

I think if Chamakh was a starter at Wolves he would score as much as Fletcher maybe even more.

Re: Frimpong injured for season
Fletcher is nowhere near good enough for us. And Chamakh, however shit he has been for Arsenal, is a league winner in France who has the (now joint) record for consecutive goals in CL matches. He's better than his last 12 months suggests. But to compare Fletcher and Chamakh is utterly pointless. It's like asking whether an apple or a pear would work better as a steering wheel for your new car. We need a steerin wheel. Not fruit.

But, Frimpong obviously rates him.

It seamed he used to have bit of an 'better than you attitude' when playing for the mugs up north when he was clearly shit...
As I said I would not want him he is nowhere near good for us....
For the debate chamakh imo is better and will grow to be better just a shame he is having a hard time at the mo...

I did say...I used to watch a fair amount of SPL and he was a right arrogant fucker when he started hitting goals that turned to a sulking little sod when defenders kicked him sky high...
