Arsenal Statman @ArsenalStatMan 12m
Hearing that Arsenal have agreed a fee for Aly Cissokho for around £8 million and he is due for a medical - *NOT CONFIRMED*

There are two stories doing the round on twitter
One is Cissokho and the 8m deal
Other is Bridge on loan

I don't really want Bridge on loan or Cissoko on a permanent.

I really hope we don't sign Bridge. I think he was terrible at West Ham last year.

Since Mr. McCarthy hasn't graced us with his presence on the new forum, I will fill in.

Anyone else heard that Wenger is begging Bischoff to come back to give us a little extra firepower in the middle. We really have missed his creative spark, and Cesc was only temporary stopgap but now he's gone too. Plus he might be able to help us balance our budget and find some extra funds with his Excel wizardry.

So, Wenger is pretty clear that we won't be buying Kalou, Ravel Morrison or Suarez this month. Pretty much puts an end to most of the speculation on here.

Times of speculation and times where Wenger actually buys are mutually exclusive.

He's clearly talented but he needs to learn the European game. He can do that at Spurs for all I care.

Now hang on just a second, that was the criticism we all had about Modric - too lightweight, too weak for the prem. The going price was 16m I think. Modric has handled the league just fine. Lets not write off Ganso yet.

and Ganso is what, like 6ft tall. Quite a big fella, he'd obviously just need some muscle building then he'd be good to go.

Ganso - Mano menezes considers him as a vital asset for his next world cup plans. Ganso has quality to unlock defenses; this quality is very important.

I remember when Kaka went to AC Milan no one thought he would make it. Even Fabregas had a transition time period.
No Doubt that the prem league requires time to adjust but i`m sure he`ll be fine.

We need a proper leftback. With Santos out and Gibbs will never be the player we hoped for, we can't play Vermaelen or Miquel there every game.

What, so because Modric made it Ganso will? Pffft. Modric is everyone's answer to every 'can a small player cut it' question. If you can name one lightweight Brzailian who has made it in the Prem (whose name isn't Juninho), I will give you a biscuit.

Either way, Rednknapp said in a recent interview he didn't even know who Ganso was and that he had never heard of him. So I think it's unlikely. And frankly, until Ganso has shown his worth in a competitive league, anyone getting excited about him is crazy. I think most of us are old enough to know that there has been a 'next Kaka', 'next Ronaldo', 'next Bebeto', 'next Socrates', or whomever coming out of Brazil every season for the last 1000 years. And only about 2% of them are ever up to standard.

I admit to not having watched much of Ganso (I doubt anyone here has, frankly), and in the couple of matches I've seen he has been alright for Brazil in some friendlies against no-marks and utterly anonymous, possibly the worst player on the pitch, for Santos against Barcelona. At any rate he has a very long way to go.

I'm not writing him off, by the way. He could turn out to be brilliant. But for the timebeing he is a punt in the dark.

It's easier to follow discussions if you hit the quote button. That said, I'm sure you don't need me to tell you how to post. Unless you do, in which case I'm more than happy to be as patronising as possible.

I'm mostly on my phone. I'm now on my computer (at least until my girlfriend shouts at me for 'typing too loudly')
