It's been really quiet on the transfer front for us. I don't know whether that is a good or bad thing.
Here's to hoping its a good thing and the wiley ol' boss surprises everyone with a big name transfer!

Well Im sure we've all had enough of being linked with everyone under the sun and then signing...Squillaci

Hopefully this is just gossip. If he goes to spurs I will be so pissed off. I want to see Ganso at Arsenal. He is a really good player, great potential and his price tag seems like a bargain.

Andrey Arshavin deal deadlocked as Arsenal demand £6m from Zenit

Arsenal have told Zenit St Petersburg they need to get real if they want to re-sign Andrey Arshavin, and cough up at least £6million.

Zenit have made re-signing Arshavin their top priority for around 12 months, and believe his rapid loss off form and confidence over the last year give them the upper hand in negotiations.

However, while Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is open to the idea of letting the 30-year-old quit the Emirates this month, he has told Zenit they can forget about a cut price deal for a player they sold for around £15million three years ago.

Arsenal want a fee of around £6million for Arshavin, while Zenit see his situation in London differently, and are only prepared to offer £3million.

Zenit are prepared to offer the Russia captain a lucrative contract and the dream of completing his career at the Petrovsky Stadium, but Wenger would rather keep Arshavin and allow his current deal to expire rather than accept a low fee for him this winter.

The situation appears deadlocked, but Arshavin also has other suitors in Russia, with CSKA Moscow keen, while Ukraine outfit Shakhtar Donetsk value his experience given speculation over the future of play-maker Jadson.

The most likely scenario still remains that Arshavin will stay in North London until the summer, where Arsenal hope he may spark a bidding war between the big spending Eastern European sides.

Plus...

Arsenal have allowed the highly rated Brazilian striker Wellington join Alcoyano on-loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year old was on a season-long deal at Levante, but struggled to settle and has now been offloaded to Segunda Division Alcoyano.

Ganso won't come to us.

Anderlecht have denied all talk about a pre agreement so far, will only believe if some good source comes forward with that piece of news.

So far can't see anything happening for us this transfer window.

Just posted this on the FB group... what do you guys think of Doumbia?

He's absolutely flying this season: 23 in 30 league games, 5 in 5 CL games. And he's only 24!

Arsenal have taken Omani international, Saad
Suhail, on a week’ s trial. The 24 year old
defender has 25 caps with Oman and the move
was confirmed by Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al-
Habsi.

He wrote on his Twitter account, “Wishing the
best of luck to my Omani bro Saad Suhail who
went to London today and will be in Arsenal for
a week trial.”

Earlier, Arsene Wenger spoke about his search
for a short- term defender in the wake of so
many full back injuries, and he hinted that all
kinds of options were being looked at.
Speaking to the official site Wenger said, “All
over the world we have our eyes and we look for
good players.

“It is very simple in a situation like that. You
might take a player who doesn’t play at all
somewhere, who is not necessarily fit quicker
than a player who is injured. Or you take a
young, potential player who has not made it
somewhere.

“A player who plays anywhere in the world at
the moment will not be available on loan, it
doesn’t exist. It can only be a guy who doesn’t
play or a promising player who has not yet
made it completely who you could take
advantage of.”

It should also be pointed out that Arsenal trial a
lot of players throughout each season, most of
them are carried out without any kind of profile
whatsoever, so the likelihood of a deal for
Suahail is slim, unless, of course, the player
impresses greatly during his week at the club.

As I reported earlier in this thread. Gee, Arseblog should quote me.

I believe it'll just be that - a trial. I can't think we'd sign him. He'd need a work permit and take up a space on the squad, even on loan, right? It won't happen, unfortunately.

Also, Sa'ad is his first name and Suhail is his father's name. His last name is Al-Mukhaini. In Oman it's common to call someone by their name and then their father's name.

Doubt we'll take him considering sagna and gibbs are back later this month, thats two new signings already. Only way we'll take him is if he impresses the shit outta Wenger.

Ganso has the strength of an autumn leaf. Let Spurs take him; he'll have all the influence of Gio dos Santos.

He's clearly talented but he needs to learn the European game. He can do that at Spurs for all I care.

Out of interest, would anyone take Tevez? Or is he just too much of an expensive combustible liability these days?

Yeah, I pretty much agree with that. Part of me thinks he could be Ballon D'Or good under Wenger, part of me thinks breaking our transfer record and wages limit on such a known pernicious element would be ridiculous.

He'd probably end up bitching about how he wants to go back to Argintina at the end of the season anyway so anyone taking Tevez is taking a huge gamble, mind, he's not too shabby as a player at all. Just way too much drama with him.

Word going around Twitter that Wayne Bridge will be signing with us on loan very soon.

Thoughts? It's ok I suppose, gives us experienced cover at full back. Wouldn't like to see him with us permanent though.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1007745/anderlecht-forward-matias-suarez-dismisses-arsenal-reports?cc=5901

Anderlecht forward Matias Suarez has dismissed reports he could join Arsenal in January.

GettyImages
Matias Suarez poses with his Gouden Schoen award alongside Anderlecht coach Ariel Jacobs
Suarez, 23, has been attracting attention from clubs around Europe since leaving Belgrano in his native Argentina for Belgium in 2008, and there have been claims that he could be on his way to the Premier League.

However, speaking after being named the first South American to claim the Gouden Schoen award for the best footballer in Belgium, he insisted he remains committed to Anderlecht.

"I want to, at the least, finish the job that I've started and that is helping the team to win the title, which is what everyone deserves," he said in De Standaard. "I don't know where the story has come from that I will be joining Arsenal this winter, but I can formally deny it.

"My bosses are well aware of what I want and that is to stay at Anderlecht for now. I'm still learning, and that's another reason I don't want to leave."

Anderlecht are currently a point clear of Gent at the top of the table.
