Arsenal v Chelsea
Venue: Stamford Bridge Date: Saturday, 22 March
TEAM NEWS
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has just one new concern, with Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky to face a fitness test.
The Gunners have long-term absentees in Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Abou Diaby.
Jose Mourinho has confirmed Chelsea will be without former Arsenal defender Ashley Cole, who is continuing his recovery from a knee ligament injury.
Midfielders Ramires and Willian are suspended as a result of their dismissals at Aston Villa last weekend.
Where do i begin with this one...well chelsea remain unbeaten at home in the prem under Jose Mourinho..think its time that ended..what with wengers 1000 game in charge...i want to see the players give back a nice present for the gaffer and smash the hell out of chelsea..its going to be hard for us..chelsea have a knack of being a bit of a bogey team for us..but we do have a good record at Stamford Bridge, winning almost a third of our 76 league visits (W25, D25, L26)
also outscored the Blues at the Bridge, with 100 goals to 95...
And Mourinho has never lost a game in charge of Chelsea against Arsenal in all competitions (W5, D5)
so...

Terrible. Just terrible.
There is no mental strength in big games with this team.

Re: Arsenal v Chelsea
Absolutely awful. and sad it had to happen in Wenger's 1000th game.
We absolutely need a 'proper' defensive midfielder, one who can sit infront of the defense with discipline every time he steps onto the pitch. Cliche it is, but defense wins you titles. Concede goals, attacking players are not so confident to play their game with the fear of losing the ball and conceding again. It's a snowball effect. Protect the defense and attacking players will get more confidence to express themselves more freely. A defensive midfielder should be of higher priority than a striker in the summer imo.

Re: Arsenal v Chelsea
Agreed. For the sheer fact that it's his 1000th game, they showed NO sense of urgency and it was just a big fat blunder. We were outplayed tactically, technically, mentally and physically.
Oh and a red card to the wrong person doesn't help either. But this game was lost even before that.

Re: Arsenal v Chelsea
We had DM sat on the bench until half time. We need a plan B for away games in general. Why Flamini didn't start today or against stoke is anyone's guess?

Re: Arsenal v Chelsea
Yeah, may be it looks Flamini is a bit old for this leauge now to play 30+ games? We can speculate, but something is missing from this team(not big though as we've beaten most teams this year). Really need to start getting results now.

Re: Arsenal v Chelsea
We just need to go to away games and get at least appoint like other teams like Chelsea vs Us at the Emirates for examole. We don't even need to change systems just players Why not today replace Santi, Ox and Poldolski with TV, Flamini and Jenks.
------------Scz----------
Sagna--Mert--Kos---Tv
----Arteta----Flamini---
Jenks--------------Gibbs
----------Rosicky------
---------Giroud---------

Re: Arsenal v Chelsea
It was the same against Liverpool, City and Chelsea.
Turnover the ball in midfield, and transition quickly. Get it forward, while our full backs and midfield has pushed up, and take the chance.
It didn't take a master tactician to work this out, how to beat us. Very frustrating.
Guus Hiddink once said that you can't win a game in the first half, but you can lose a game.
I don't blame Arteta, Gibbs or Sagna for being caught up field, or the Ox and Ros for turning it over. I can't understand why Wenger didn't put the team out to start cautiously.
I am normally one of the most positive and optimistic supporters and rarely too critical, but this was ludicrous by Wenger.
