When you look at this transfer....it may help united...but for the last two seasons they have seriously needed men in the middle..but I guess it's the United way to have these wide players......

Just hope we splash out and grab the forward we need....the clock is ticking....

We have a big slot of games Liverpool twice united and Bayern......these are the games where new additional support will lift the whole squad!!!

I'm quite excited by the Draxler bid. I hope we get him!

Draxler seems to be promising and everything but do we need to sign another attacking midfielder? Even though theo's out, that seems to be the one area where we have more than enough players contending for places already..

If this is true I am also excited, in all the good ways! What is the source?
Also, he is injured right now, but the reports of him being out until March was not correct.. But do some of you know when he is supposed to be fit again?

Not seen anything really regarding a long term injury for draxler...

Couple of reports knocking about saying he is nursing an injury of some sort but it could just be a smoke screen for an impending transfer...seen this many a times over the years.....

Fron 17. jan.. So maby he is fit now? Have anyone seen this guy play btw?

That would be my guess he is fit.....

I have not seen him up close play....but from what I have seen of him of tv/YouTube etc looks quite a handful....

So, draxler is not going to happen.. And apparently kim kallstrøm is on his way on loan! He's swedish but I have never heard of him before. Some talks of Miroslav Klose as well. Dont know what I think about this really.

Over 100 caps for Sweden and you've never heard of him? LOL.

He is a decent player I've always liked his style if I had to compare his style to anyone in our squad I'd say Rosicky, similar technique for me. Hell of a good at set pieces but this still doesn't address a certain STRIKER situation!!

How underwhelming...
In my alternate universe,Wenger signed Iker Muniain
in the final hour of the window.

fucked off is not the words.....

i get the feeling wenger is happy that our position is second and is taking a top 4 finish as minimum this season...

no transfers shows a lack of ambition to take the prem crown...can we stop the man city bulldozer?!?!?

i would say no...a shout for top slot could turn into a slug out for 4th...again......

If you guys were expecting an Ozil like signing then I think you're nuts. I am disappointed though, because I wanted a striker, but who knows? We needed a centre back in 2009 he got a certain Arshavin who helped us finish fourth that season.

check this out!!!!!

Kim Kallstrom update
"New Arsenal signing Kim Kallstom is set for a spell on the sidelines with a back injury that was discovered in the medical before he signed on loan from Spartak Moscow.

"The 31-year-old Sweden midfielder sustained the problem on Tuesday while playing football on a beach during Spartak's pre-season tour in Abu Dhabi.

"He informed Arsenal of discomfort upon arriving at the club on Friday but, despite an MRI scan showing no damage, a CT scan found an issue with his back.

"The Arsenal medical team provided manager Arsene Wenger with the prognosis, but it was decided Kallstrom would still join and undergo his rehabilitation with the Gunners.

"He is expected to miss at least Arsenal's next six games, in which they face Crystal Palace, Liverpool twice, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Sunderland.

"Kallstrom did not train with his new team-mates on Friday or Saturday and will briefly return to Sweden and Russia before moving to London and beginning a course of treatment.

"The former Lyon player, Arsenal's only signing in the January transfer window, joined on loan until the end of the season to provide cover for injured midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere, plus the suspended Mathieu Flamini."

so not only did we not sign a back up striker nor bag someone that will help with the final push..but to really take the piss we signed a 31 year old who fell out of favour with his parent team and was known to be carrying an injury as a result we now have him as no back up for the next 6 or so games and in that time we will gain back our players from injury!!

work that fucker out!!!!!

what a joke!!!!

Also, didn't know if this warranted a thread of its own but has anybody seen the Keane and Vieira documentary?

Worth a watch really.
