The champions league returns with our first group game

Team news

Arsène Wenger has revealed the following team news ahead of the Champions League game in Marseille:
on Olivier Giroud….
We have a few problems. Some with Ozil but the main one is Giroud, who has a knee problem. He will have a test tomorrow and hopefully he will be fit. But it will only be decided tomorrow.
on options up front if Giroud is ruled out…
I have not really thought about it that much but the obvious solution is Walcott. We’ll see.
on Per Mertesacker…
There is good news. Mertesacker will be available again after illness.
on Mesut Ozil…
He was ill and has some tight muscles after Saturday. But I think he will be OK. We are optimistic.

If Ozil is able to play, then I wouldn't be too fussed if Akpom started.

Woooah let's not get too far ahead of ourselves! As good as Özil is I don't think he can carry the team. I would prefer Theo up front.
Really curious about how the team will lineup...

exactly that......if wevcan pack out midfield with enough quality then a goal can come from somewhere...I would be happy with 1-0

well, both of them were in the training session before the game, so my guess is that they both start and we win 3-0:)

I'd rather not risk it with Giroud and play Theo if our dreamy striker isn't 100% fit. That said, although it's the first game of the group stages, this is a must win game. Both games against Marseilles are must win games, and two other wins and we're good to qualify for the second round.

With Cazorla, Podolski, Bendtner, Sanogo and the Ox out, if Walcott out, who plays left and right forward and central attacking mid?

I would play:

-------- SZCZ --------
Sagna - Kos - Mert - Nacho
---- Flamini -- Ramsey --
---------- Ozil ---- Wilshere
Walcott
------------ Akpom ---

---------------Szczesny-----------------
Sagna---Koscielny----Mertesacker---Gibbs
--------Flamini-----------Ramsey---------
----------------Wilshere-----------------
Walcott---------Giroud---------------Ozil

That's the team I would go with.

Now that we have the domestic league teams understanding we are back its about time we launched an assult on the European side of things...every game we call a must win but for me this is 100% one we have to win and win it well..

Lokking forward to this match greatly.....I hope we show more than a pretty way of playing and dish out a fully focused and determination to turn over marseille...

Just for a laugh before tonights match....

An IT worker appeared in court today accused of trying to have sex with a sheep next to Tottenham Hotspur's new training ground.

Paul Lovell, 61, was allegedly caught with the animal close to the state-of-the-art facility on Hotspur Way, Enfield, north London, on September 4.

It is thought stars from the Premier League team were training at the centre on the day of the incident.

Lovell appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court charged with one count of indecent exposure and another count of outraging public decency.

He denied the charges and opted to be tried by a jury.

Lovell will now face a plea and case management hearing at Wood Green Crown Court
He was released on bail on condition he does not return to Whitewebbs Lane or Archers Wood in Enfield.

Lovell of Magpie Close, Enfield, faces one charge of indecent exposure and one of outraging public decency.

Sure sounds like they are missing bale! ! ! Lol
