I would have Arteta ahead of Ramsey, and Per ahead of Verm.

Arteta is essential for me. Gives us strength defensively, and enables the more attacking players to do their thing. If we were playing against Bayern or Barca, I would want Arteta there.

It's hard to choose between Jack and Ramsey, but in those tight games, I think Jack has the quality to create the start of something that leads to a goal. Also he holds quite well and knows where is central midfielder partner is.

Against lower quality teams, would be happy to have Aaron in there to force pressure.

Vermaelen get's sucked out of defence to easily to create holes. I think Per is under-rated, and his reading of the game is great. He gets caught out occasionally but it looks bad because of his lack of pace, where as many other defenders would not have been close in the first place.

I think in their best form, top of their game, I would agree with pwoodman's line-up with the exception of Arteta instead of Ramsey... No doubt that Vermaelen at his best is a monster of a defender and is really great at set-pieces whereas Per has that calm, experienced effect. That is where my biggest selection headache would be if everybody was available and in form. Maybe even Diaby or Flamini ahead of Arteta as well.

The reasons I picked TV ahead of Mert were that He is Club captain and as Marko says on his day he is the best CB we have.

With Arteta and Ramsey I agree to an extent but Ramsey had a great end to last season and started this one just as well and I truly believe he will get even better. Ozil, Wilshere and Ramsey could be our midfield 3 for the next 5 - 10 years, if they click it'll be excellent.

Vermaelen is a good defender when in form but I feel Mertesacker and Koscielny have developed a very strong partnership and complement each other really well.

In mid-field, I would go for Arteta and Ramsey as they provide balance. I also feel Arteta and Flamini would make a great partnership in the middle of the park, with Flamini allowing Arteta to play a little more freely.

On the bench we have an experienced keeper, a good defender in Vermaelen who also provides cover at left-back, a defensive mid-fielder in Flamini who can also cover at right-back (or left-back as well). Along with that we have two of the finest talents in English talents in Wilshere and Oxlade-Chamberlain and two vastly experienced International players who can change a game and give us great options tactically, off the bench.

I agree with Meshaal's lineup. In tight games against big opposition, we might use Flamini instead of Ramsey.

Vermaelen is definitely not under any circumstances our best defender. He hardly had a good defender's CV when he came to us and he's rarely been involved in good runs of clean sheets and the like. In fact he's the defender whose lack of defensive nous opposition are most likely to take advantage of. Like him though we might, I'm afraid it's quite clear that he's not the defender Wenger had hoped he would be. He's never been involved in the most reassuring CB partnerships when we've needed one.

As for the rest of the team, I agree that it's likely to take pressure off Wilshere now. Good news, and in any case I think a team with Wilshere, Ozil and Cazorla is probably too attacking, or at least lacking in defensive strength. I'd like to be proved wrong but I think two of Arteta, Ramsey and Flamini will be needed against stronger opposition.

Meshaal's team is good though Jenkinson would surely be on the bench given our lack of defensive strength.

In any case, only in our teams will all these players be fit all season!

I can't imagine Arteta and Flamini being played in the same team very often. Need to have either Wilshere, Ramsey or Rosicky playing the box-to-box role.

i prefer mert and koscielny, one slow but good understanding of play and another speed and great at making tackles and interceptions. R.B and L.B - sagna and gibbs

in the midfield i prefer arteta (when fit) with ramsey to chase and harass the ball with ozil in the middle. otherwise its a trio of ramsey, rosicky and ozil. ramsey and rosicky put are both very goodworking and harass the opponent very well.

my front remain, walcot, giroud and caz.

hard to see where wilshire fits in there but would depend on the type of team we are playing. i think. like say we are facing an opponent that sits in deep and we are chasing a lead then i prefer, wilshire, ramsey and ozil in the middle. wilshire peneration with the ball is fantastic.
really looking forward to the type of gameplan we will follow the next few games, hoping ozil can settle into the team really quickly.

all being fit and well this is how i would line up....

...........................giroud..........................

..cazorla.................ozil.....................theo..

.............ramsey................wilshere.............

...monreal........mert..........kos..........sagna...

now the players i have left out are only for the reasons being

gibbs..i like the lad he shows good commitment but i feel monreal could turn out better with a season under his belt he needs game time he shows good vision and marking in the little that's been seen from him gibbs still shows huge pockets of space to those wingers at times and has been quite guilty of some huge mistakes...

arteta..will no means be getting regular game time...with the introduction of ozil our layout will change i think its one of the reasons he has been brought wenger knows a change needs to be made...as i have said before arteta is still a quality player but is now losing his what pace he had..and wilshere is going to really need to get to grips with this season....

podolski...with the introduction of ozil it may really spark podolski into life but for me it could be a case of a good bench and rotation player...i feel that cazorla could be lining up in his more favoured role as a winger...

all this said there is no reason why we wont have a team A and B once more, it could offer huge amounts of attacking force on a regular rotation..
its looking good for us..maybe with the introduction of our savour bendtner it could get better.......yes i was joking....lol

I was wondering what our new best combination would be. We had Theo van Nasregas a few years ago, we had to little effect, Santi Girolski last season (it looked good when it worked but it didn't work very often), I was wondering if we could have Theo Cazozil/Ozirla, or Girzil or whatever. I really am looking forward to the weekend, excited like a little boy who has got a good gift for Christmas.

So tough to choose between Wilshere and Ramsey. On current form, it is obviously Ramsey. 6 months ago, or even 1 month ago, you would think Wilshere would be (when fit) one of the first chosen in the team.

It is a good situation for Wilshere. He can develop more naturally over time rather than being relied upon so much, and even being played when injured.

Didn't know where to put it so anyway, was wondering who out of the current squad can make the 100 goal mark for Arsenal. Theo obviously is closest and still only 24 (that's some achievement that's overlooked by fans), I can see both Jack and Aaron doing it, maybe the Ox if he stays long enough. Jack will find his scoring boots in the next one or two seasons a la Cesc and Ramsey. Santi, Giroud, and Poldi joined at a not so young age to be doing that, and I don't mind Ozil not reaching that as long as he reaches the 100 assist mark.

Realistically I think Walcott and Giroud are good shouts, 100 goals is a huge ask so really not sure i'd go for anyone else right now.

Theo out for a few weeks, so will it be either Ryo or Gnabry replacing him, or Mesut on the flanks with Arteta in the middle (in a more creative role than in his last two seasons)?

Arteta's position and role is holding mid. I don't expect Wenger to change that.

Ramsey, Cazorla, Wilshere and Rosicky can play CAM if Ozil has to go to right or left forward.

Ozil to play as the further most player of our middle 3 is quite unanimous. But the problem of playing either two of Arteta/Ramsey/Wilshere together is what we've seen happen plenty of times last few seasons: opponents hoof the ball up-field, and there's not a single player in front of defense who can either shield the back 4/or, pick up the 2nd ball from defenders' clearances regularly. Hence, Flamini is a definite starter in my starting XI.

My team would be:

Szcz
Sagna Per Kos/TV Gibbs
Flamini Ramsey/Arteta
Ozil/Wilshere
Walcott/Gnabry Giroud Santi/Podolski

Flamini won't play all the games, but he'll be picked more often than not imo. We can test other combinations when opportunity presents and the time to do so is right. And with plenty of options in midfield now, Wilshere will probably start to play further up the pitch than he has been playing last few seasons.

Only one problem, Cazorla and Rosicky are injured and Jack is playing on the left. That leaves us Ramsey and Flamini, so surely the third position in Theo's absence is Arteta's unless Wenger decides to keep Mesut in the middle and play Gnabry on the right.
