i would like to say, "this should be easy" but this is arsenal and we don't do easy. we are like the heroes of old, who like climbing unsurmountable cliffs and slaying dragons, bashing their head with our gigantic battle axe. i mean why doesn't he jst poison that mangy old cow. or face stormy seas in a rickity boat when a bigger and sturdier one is available at the harbour.
my point with this nonsensical rambling is that we will prolly let in 2 goals .... jst so we can clench our buttholes and have the nervous, nail biting experience of being an arsenal fan.
no new additions (insert sick feeling in your stomach everytime a player goes down)
we go into this game with a 3 away goal advantage so it does look rosy from arsenal side. you wouldn't ask for a better advantage going into a game. the question is whether arsene will rest some of the players, keeping in mind we play tottenham on sunday. does he risk resting key players so some of the younger ones get game time but then again what if we fck up. the logical step would be to play the starting 11 and if things are still bright rest them after the halftime.
my prediction is 2-1 to arsenal

I think we will see:
Szczesny
Jenkinson Mertesacker Koscielny Nacho
Ramsey Santiago Wilshere
Theo Giroud Poldi
Gibbs and Sagna can be rested because we have more than able backup for them. I would have loved to see Theo rested as well but we don't have options who are good enough. Gnabry looks promising, but not the type of player to throw in such an important match even if we do have a 3 away goal lead.

I wonder if Theo ever needs to be rested. His style of game doesn't see a huge impact on his body, unlike Ramsey, Wilshere and Rosicky for example. Just short bursts, and he is too quick for anyone to catch him and kick him. Barring injury, he can possibly just keep playing.
Have no idea how this will o. We could cruise, or we could make it hard for ourselves. Probably somewhere in the middle, like when we progressed against Celtic when Eduardo dived. We will probably let them score, but end up winning by a goal or a draw.
2-1 to us.

It would be great to see a few of the youngun's get 30 minutes in this game. We may be needing them in a few weeks time if we cop some injuries. Best blood them now.

Wouldn't it be good if the team set out to hold and defend. Just to practice it at least once?
I wonder if we will see a surprise appearance by Flamini?

I think I would bring in Fabianski, Koscielny for whichever of Sagna or Mertesacker might need a rest more and Monreal for Gibbs.
I can't see we have any options to change the midfield or attack - i'd maybe give Wilshire 45 minutes for either Rosicky or Cazorla but I wouldn't worry about starting him.

Flamini would be a welcome addition, I think him and Ramsey in the same midfield would work really well.Jonathan Prendergast wrote:Wouldn't it be good if the team set out to hold and defend. Just to practice it at least once?

Agree with Vanig's line up but I would start Sanogo in Giroud's place. It can't hurt us playing our strongest 10 except 1. An injury to Giroud would be a total disaster on the other hand. Let the kid have a go tonight. see what he's capable of.

I would have thrown him there if he hadn't looked totally off the pace during the weekend. He needs more time before being thrown in such an important match, even if we have a 3 away goal lead. Right now, I'd be more comfortable with Chuba Akpom than Yaya.ralph avedikian wrote:Agree with Vanig's line up but I would start Sanogo in Giroud's place. That said, a sub appearance at the hour mark would be good for him.

So close with your lineup, but Wenger stuck with Sagna in stead of Kos...Vanig Bostanian wrote:I think we will see:

I always said that Ramsey could be our Lampard. Guy is brimming with confidence!

Well they're similar aren't they? You could say Stevie G runs more and gets stuck in more than Lampard... So yeah. Maybe Stevie G is a better comparison.Jonathan Prendergast wrote:He's more of an all action Stevie G?Marko Maksimović wrote:I always said that Ramsey could be our Lampard. It's funny when people make comparisons, it often has as much to do with looks as the style of play?
The commentator the other night compared Sanogo to N'Gog in terms of build. They'd never say Peter Crouch would they.
Just like Diaby is like Viera apparently...
I WANT TO HEAR A WHITE PLAYER COMPARED TO A BLACK PLAYER DAMMIT!

You have to admit that Diaby does have a similar build to Vieira though!
And Ramsey looks nothing like Stevie G nor Lampard!
