Spurs 2013/14
Is it Ok to start a thread about them?
Signings are:
- Soldado
- Eriksen
- Lamela
- Paulinho
- Chadli
- Capoue
- Chirchies
Total spending 104 million pounds...
I wonder if Bale might want to stay now?
When we lost Cesc (Cazorla), RVP (?), Song (?), Nasri (Podolski) it always took us a season or more to replace them. Spurs have done it in preparation!

That's some team they have right now, but I still think they will come 4th-5th and will still finish below us.

Re: Spurs 2013/14
Bale staying? Absolutely no chance of that happening. 0%
They funded all those transfers with the money they got/will get from Bale. No way he is staying.
No offense Jonothan, but I don't think we should be having a spurs thread. We shouldn't be this worried about them, and I personally would not like to discuss them in a thread of their own. Forever in our shadows.

Not offended, that's why I asked.
Why if we consistently make fund of them in this thread?

Real Madrid C. F. @realmadrid 12m OFICIAL: Gareth Bale es nuevo jugador del Real Madrid. #halamadrid
Madrid announce Bale, hopefully this means them offloading a few players to make up their losses, hopeing for an Ozil or Di Maria from them for us. Gonna be a hectic deadline day!

Re: Spurs 2013/14
Is looking at Spurs a good reality check considering our fans complaints of lack of trophies, the fact we have spent less than them, have built a new stadium and always finish above them?
Or is a distraction when we should really be concentrating on beating City, United and Chelsea and winning titles?

Re: Spurs 2013/14
Capoue also faces a length injury layoff after yesterday too. Not good for them.
Beating Spurs will hopefully shut afew moaners up and show them that spending isn't the be all and end all of success. It helps (as with City, Chelsea etc) but it is only a part of success not all of it. Spurs have spent over 100m in the transfer window and haven't scored a goal from open play in the league yet I don't think? I'd rather be in our position right now.
Hopefuly today will be a day we break our record transfer fee a couple times and show that we now do have the money to get closer to City, Chelsea and United.

Re: Spurs 2013/14
I think we are better placed than Spurs this year.
But as their new signings integrate, we better sign a couple of players or they could pass us in coming seasons (and no, I'm not one that predicts they finish ahead of us every year!)

Spurs are going to win the League. Trailing 5-0 to City right now.

Re: Spurs 2013/14
I watched a lot of it. Spurs weren't great, but credit to City. On a different level.
They completely manhandled them, walked through the midfield with ease.
Most of the goals were free flowing counterattacks,( which I would love us to score more of , instead of the over-elaborate tippy-tappy we seem to have reverted to a little bit.)
We can laugh at Spurs, but tread lightly . They had only allowed 6 goals in 11 games before this. They were a good "shutdown" team. We have to go there on Dec 14th. Our only hope is that our midfield is more competent than Spurs and if we control possession a little bit, we might get something. But Spurs had the bulk of possession today apparently , so.....

Looked at the stats, and Spurs had 54% possessions and 13 shots compared to 15.
Aguero is a gun player, so luckily we have Koscielny who is perfect for such match ups.

AVB sacked after 16 games into the season.
What next for Spurs? Zola resigned as Watford coach. It's either Brom or Spurs for him as it stands.
