At this point, it doesn't even bother me.
Song wants to be in Barcelona? Sell him. Season kicks off in 18 hrs? So what. We'll buy M'Vila and Sahin, and they won't leave in Jan. for the AfCON.
We're either incredibly fucked this season already, or in a great place, I can't decide which.
Also, what is the difference between Song getting his head turned by Barca and M'Bengue getting his head turned by us. Nothing.
It's another step up to a higher pedigree in both cases. We haven't won anything in a long time.

A lot of stories about Song's attitude being shite. If that's the case, then he can fuck right off. He's by no means irreplaceable. And if he is sold, it's simply a case of Wenger being fed up with him and knowing that we can do better. I say this because Song's got 3 years left on his contract, Wenger could merely say 'No' and that would be that.

Sell Song to those Catalan cunts for 18mil, let him rot on the bench there, reinvest it in M'Vila or Biglia, and we have a proper DM, which is what we need. Thanks to Cazorla, Wilshere and Diaby returning and AOC's playing down the middle, we no longer need our DM to go forward and try the spectacular passes the way Song did.

I am still very very excited about this season.

Not overly fussed about Song leaving especially if we get a good price. If we have let him go, it is because we want to and not because we've been forced to,.

Contrary to reports Ive read, I thought Song had a poor season, 10 assists should not be what we are looking at, but the 49 or whatever we conceded. Still much more optimistic about this season than I was the last one

In an ideal world if we can get rid of him for a good price and ditch fucking golden bollocks bellendtdner....that would rid us of the agro players.....

A harmony could spread across the team and get them back to a nice winning mentality...

I don't care if we lose Song as long as we get a replacement. Song had a much better season in 2010-11 than he did in 2011-12. I don't care about his 11 assists or whatever.

The challenge for Song is, can he be a success at Barcelona like Hleb?

Thinks he's better than he actually is. Thinks the grass is always greener on the other side. Has Darren Dein as his representative.
Has all the attributes required to successfully follow Hleb's path.

Stories about that he'll move to barca sometime in the week for €20mil+. Well if thats true I do hope we make our move for a new proper DM'er before our next game as well then. Don't really care that song is leaving, for a DM'er, we could do a lot better. He'a just too arrogant/complacent at times. As Van Roy said, he had a better 2010-11 season and I fully agree.

It's gonna happen....you can see it now first game under our belt and that will be enough for him to stick with what we have....

Come on man you don't need to be so negative, how would sky and bbc know wenger's intentions. I can't for the life of me believe that we won't sign anyone else, especially if Song leaves.

FC Barcelona has agreed a deal with Arsenal FC for the transfer of Alex Song to the Camp Nou. The fee is 19 million euros

The Cameroon international midfielder will sign for the next five seasons with a release clause of 80 million euros

On Monday he’ll have a medical and then join the rest of the squad for the official team presentation at the Gamper

Ughhhhhh. Maybe we'll bring in an actual defensive midfielder? Though as today showed, for a lot of home games we're really not going to need one- most teams come to the Emirates completely happy to battle for a point and sit deep in their own half.

I imagine he'll rack up quite a few appearances for Barca, but probably in defense instead of midfield

Really sad that he's just gone like that. I'm now used to it happening over a few months.

I don't think it will go well for him. More likely a Hleb than an Herny or Cesc.

It's very sad...hope he gets stacked up on the bench...feel sorry for Wenger...trying to build team's having his hands tied all the time and the board just letting players walk for a fat profit......they all need sacking, bring back dein and co....I just hope Wenger has the last laugh this season...

It was definitely time for Stan to come in, in reaction to the RVP and now Song situations.

On the other hand, he needs to come in and be proactive now, set a new agenda, before it happens again.

I don't think he cares to much for how things are going...the first sign of trouble with robin should have got him on the first flight over....feels like he is in with the side of lining his pockets and will take sales over productiveness....things I feel would be a whole lot different with red and white holdings having a say.....no way usmanov would have let robin go for one...fully expecting another lash out form him in the next few days...

Fully justified too....

Maybe selling Song is part of the new agenda, we seem to have been extending deals for key players recently Kos, TV etc maybe Song wouldn't extend past his current contract and Wenger decided to sell now rather have him causing issues in preseason in 2 years time

Oh by no means was selling song on the cards...to me it looks like a lucky and well timed call by barca......glad he has gone...sure cazorla can make up his assists and allow a defensive mid to concentrate on exactly what he should be...

Is Song the last of our players represented by Darren Dein? Maybe that's why Wenger let him go?
