Kiss that one goodbye then...
Podolski is better.
Totally different kind of player, I dont see how you can compare them especially as each player would bring different qualities.
I say so based on the number of positions both of them can play in and the amount of experience they have at the top level.

Why would united?

Maybe Fergie was looking at someone else? Maybe he was driving a lorry over to the continent to stock up on cheap red wine and stopped off to watch some football?

Fergie was meeting Denzil and Trigger and needed to kill some time.

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
Don't need Vertonkin', Gotze has no desire to move and if he did, it'd be for other clubs, Hazard looks to be a possibility. RVP to City, why would he? He'd be competing with Dzeko, Balotelli, Aguero for a year, and then whatever world class striker they buy the year after that. Bad career move for a fragile, 29 year old who is already the top asset at his club.

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
RVP's wife Bouchra has rubbished all rumors through her twitter account. Looks like Man City are trying pull a Barca here by influencing the press.

I don't see how you could possibly know this.

RVP signed up to a column for the sun, doesnt that mean he is on the move or something?

I suspect if we signed Hazard, it would be a sign that Chamberlain will be playing more centrally in the near future.

Wenger: "If Montpellier are prepared to let Belhanda leave, we might be interested, but it's their choice." (Eurosport)
Now I don't know much about Eurosport so can anyone confirm if Wenger actually said that?

The same story is on Sky Sports as well: "I love this player, but I do not want to create problems.
"Montpellier are the ones who will decide if he leaves, once that happens we might look at him but we respect the work done by Montpellier."

Hazard can play and has played a lot of time in the attacking midfield position. Him, RVP and Podolski can play in the same team.

He plays on the wings for Montpellier, really exciting talent(from what little I've seen of him).
Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
Just looked Belhanda up on wikipedia and youtube, now I know everything about him. Looks pretty skillful from the clips though, good dribbling skills.
Everytime a team does well in the french league, we seem to end up signing the wrong player from them, Bordeaux (signed Chamakh instead of Gourcuff), Lille (Gervinho instead of Hazard) and now it's Montpellier - Giroud or this Belhanda fellow?

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
Been linked heavily to Olivier Giroud (the new Gignac) as well. Seems to be in great form.

Re: 2012 Summer Transfers
If Giroud is the Gignac, then I say stay well away.
What about M'Vila? Apparently their coach said he'd be leaving this summer. Is that us? Is Belhanda possibly a smokescreen of sorts, ala Ben Afra and Nasri?

How lovely it would be to sign Podolski, M'Vila and AN Other. It'd be a shitload of cash, but maybe we were saving up for this, haha. Unlikely it would happen, but it'd be nice.
To be honest, I don't know if M'Vila is a player we need as urgently as another attacker, but if he's as quality as he's meant to be, then he could be very, very useful.

M'Vila is the player Wenger thought Diaby would be.

Haven't heard Gignac being mentioned after that one good season - thats what I meant when I said Giroud could be the new Gignac.

I see, that's valid. From what little I've seen of Giroud, he's a lumbering big-man type, rather than a skillful assassin.
