''What a load of Rubbish'' The Arsenal Bin Bag Protest
Arsene Wenger is facing the humiliation of a bizarre BIN-BAG protest as angry Arsenal fans begin to vote with their feet.
One supporters’ group is urging their fellow Gooners to put black bin liners over empty red seats at the Emirates during Saturday's match against Blackburn to highlight falling attendances.
Manager Wenger has seen his side slip to seventh in the table after taking just one point from their last four games, and there have been Twitter and Facebook calls for the bin-bag protest plus chants of “we want our money back” during this weekend's lunch-time clash.
Wenger also faced a severe backlash on Twitter, while the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust called on the board and majority shareholder Stan Kroenke to engage more with fans after the club refused to make any big money signings in January.
Kelvin Meadows, of the Where Has Our Arsenal Gone and Black Scarf Movement, insisted that their group would always support the team and Wenger, but questioned the direction of the club.
Meadows said: “What was the point in six per cent price rises last summer if the club do not want to spend? We will always support the team and Wenger deserves respect and to be treated with dignity after everything he’s done for the club.
“If Robin van Persie signs [a new contract], then great. But I don’t know many people who would blame him if he did go in the summer because is the club going to buy players to rebuild the team again?
“It’s not the players’ fault. It’s not even their fault if some of them are not necessarily good enough. But we would like answers from the board.”
The AST also issued a six-point bulletin to members and questions to the board after Arsenal’s latest setback - a goalless draw at Bolton which leaves them in danger of missing out on a £30m-plus Champions League qualification jackpot at the end of the season.
Although the AST insist they will remain behind Wenger for the remainder of the campaign, they urged the club to freeze ticket prices after last year’s increases and called on Kroenke to engage with fans.
Arsenal remain fully committed and supportive of Wenger, whose contract runs until 2014, while the club insist that no decision has been made on season ticket prices.

Fuck this, the fans should get behind the team under these circumstances especially. Enough about the 'we can voice our opinion' crap and support the team.

Totally abusrd.
What complete space cadet comes up with these hair-brained ideas? Type #binbagprotest into Twitter. Majority of Arsenal fans will react just how you did, with a What the Fuck type response.
Sadly some complete morons are happy to go along with this. Most notably @arsenalaction and a group of spotty teens who were probably too young to even remember the 2002 double.
Spurs fans are loving this kind of nonsense I tell you. Surely Arsenal fans are above this kind of ridiculous behaviour.

The only thing I agree with is the questioning of the six percent ticket price in the summer ? How can the club actually justify that ?
What a sorry state of affairs and low morale from the fans supporting the club at the mo. Hate to say it but Wenger and the board have brought it on themselves. Poor signings, Poor Tactics, Poor communication between club and supporter.
On the plus side how easy is it going to be to get a ticket next season . Id say for most league games the stadium will be a quarter if not half empty !!
In Arsene we rust. ....... still

Pointless, counter-productive and stupid... but they're entitled to act like complete morons if they wish.
I can understand them though, people want to do something about our problems, but as we all know, most people are stupid so they end up doing things like this.

About the ticket price, read these interesting tweets.
1) Arsenal most expensive ST myth exposed. Here is a simple illustration of the lies peddled about our club.
2) According to various stats from those peddling this rubbish, the cheapest Chelski ST cost £595. W/out Cup Credits it is £33 per game.
3) Arsenal ST is £951 (they do not mention the 7 Cup Credits) with 7 cup credits = £38 per game.
4) Chelski fans will play 7 cup games at home this season at a premium price at an average £60 per game, costing another £420.
5) This makes the total price of Chelski's ST £1,015 when compared properly with Arsenal's. But we are told we have the most expensive ST.
6) Arsenal have the most expensive ST if you do not compare oranges with oranges. But why let the facts get in the way of a good story eh!
7) The fact is the comparisons made about the prices of our ST giving the impression that they are the most expensive are misleading.
8 ) In terms of comparison it’s never apples for apples. Our ST include FA Cup and CL games, which other clubs in London charge extra for.
9) In fact, they charge a premium for them. Arsenal ST prices should be judged in that way rather than on the pure top line number.
10) From my calculations, Chelski fans pay more for their ST than we do. But hush, do not let the lazy hacks with their agenda know this.
11) My figures are based on my research of websites who have claimed we actually have the most expensive ST.

Very classy of them to use bin bags, maybe they picture themselves as utter rubbish. Thankfully they are a minority even among the protesters.
There is still no clarity about who the villain is ?? Is it Wenger or is it the Board ??
At least the Liverpool fans seemed to have targeted the right bunch of clowns with their protests. We are still divided as usual about who our villain is

I'm not necessarily saying I agree with them, but it seems like everyone here is of the mindset that being upset with the state of the club is idiotic. These people are protesting what they see as unfair to them. What's so wrong with that?

Protest after the game and not before or during the game. The atmosphere currently in the Stadium is toxic and such things won't help the team. You need to back the team when the chips are down.
We have been notorious for being very silent as fans, it's time we change the stereotypes. But we cannot be like the Scouse morons !!
